Burleigh Hill Campsite sits in the tranquil Cambridgeshire countryside, just ten miles north of Cambridge on the outskirts of St Ives, on a small family run arable farm. The campsite features level grass pitches in either a shady old orchard or sunny open pitches on our Rally fields. All pitches include electric hook ups and fresh water.
We have a toilet block comprising WCs, Showers, vanity sinks, which are free to use and open 24/7. There are also elsan and rubbish collection points.
The site has plenty of space, it is level and sheltered on all sides by trees and there are lots of walks through the local countryside. The farm is run with wildlife diversity in mind and species such as Black Squirrels, Woodpeckers, Goldfinches, Deer, Rabbits and Hares are all common sights.
Most of our visitors appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and the shops, a pub, bus stop, GPs surgery and even a vets clinic, which are only two fields walk away if/when you need them.
The campsite has been open for over thirty years, with lots of loyal customers, so we must be doing something right. We are popular, but have enough space, and even when we are busy it doesn`t feel like you`re crammed in.
Our aim is to provide a relaxed camping experience at an affordable price, so our pitch fee with electric hook up is just £20 a night, with no hidden extras. Nearby Attractions
St Ives is a great base from which to explore Cambridgeshire, whether it be the colleges of Cambridge or Ely Cathedral, to picturesque villages, historic sites and nature reserves.
Closer to home, there are all the facilities you`d expect from an historic market town in St Ives, including farmers markets 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month and a general street market every Monday, or closer to home a useful shopping centre, just two fields away, with direct footpath (or 2 minute drive) where you`ll also find the nearest pub!
In the nearby village of Hilton you can find one of only six or seven Turf Mazes left in the country, while in St Ives and Huntingdon there are small, interesting local museums.
We`d also recommend Johnsons, the Crocodile Farm and Visitor Centre in Woodhurst, and The Raptor Centre just up the road, where there are regular hawking demonstrations.

Owner Directions
Coming off the A14 at St Ives, follow the signposts for St Ives and then Somersham. As you turn off the mini roundabout out of St Ives onto the B1040 (Somersham Road) you`ll immediately drive up a small hill; shortly after the brow the campsite is down a half a mile lane on your left, after the farm buildings on your left and before the Rugby Club. If you get to the Rugby Club on your left you`ve gone too far, so pull into the Rugby Club and turn around.
There is a sign on a telegraph pole at the entrance to the farm, which reads Burleigh Hill Farm, and we`ve left a couple of traffic cones at the end of the lane to make it easier to spot. At night there are two triangular reflectors on the telegraph pole which will be lit up by your car lights, but only when you`re coming up the hill from St Ives.
