Description
Pitches: 10
Opening Dates next year: 01/05/2025 to 31/10/2025
At Vallis Veg we love natural camping spots and we love campfires. These are what we aim to offer our campers. Our site is not a conventional site with lots of tents. We are a small farm and the camping is little bit wilder. We have a covered area that can be used when the weather is wet so long as it hasnt been booked by someone.
Some sites have views across the countryside towards the Mendips and some are surrounded by young trees. The rough ground and young trees on our site attract a range of wildlife and we have deer browsing, well used badger trails, grass snakes, weasels, lots of birds and regular visits from a barn owl hunting. Come and enjoy our beautiful site.
FACILITIES ARE BASIC, although we do have a sink area for washing up, cold running water - safe for drinking, washing cubicles (but no showers) and a compost toilet
PARKING: You cant drive right up to your site in your car. But we do have a wheelbarrow available for you to move your belongings.
WASTE: Please take your landfill and recyclable waste home with you (More details why on our website and Thank you!)
NOISE: We like it quiet and we think our campers do too so no amplified music and quiet time starts at 10pm.
PRICES: £10 per person, £10 per vehicle, £5 for kids aged 4 to 14 and free for kids under 4. £7 for a bag of firewood (please return the empty bags).
BOOKING: You can book online - please visit our website to do so. Please follow the directions on the website carefully and read the Essential Information For Campers before booking.
Nearby Attractions
We have a public footpath running through our site which gives easy pedestrian access to the town of Frome as well as lovely walks to some of the surrounding villages.
Frome has lots of activities, from tennis in the park and a sports centre to art and craft sessions and venues offering anything from films to opera. See: https://www.discoverfrome.co.uk/events/ for more info.
More suggestions The walk to Mells (7km round trip) is particularly beautiful and has lots of things to see, including a fascinating viewpoint looking over the quarry just outside the village. There are several excellent places to eat in Mells: the Walled Garden, the Vaillge Shop (and cafe) and the Talbot Inn.
Follow the cycle track from Great Elm to Radstock and visit the mining museum.
Walk along the MacMillan Way to Nunney and visit the castle.
Book a riding lesson at a local stable.

Owner Directions
PLEASE DONT TURN UP WITHOUT BOOKING FIRST. For detailed directions please visit our website Please follow them carefully to avoid disturbing our neighbours.
BY CAR Follow the A362 West through Frome past a graveyard on the left then a row of shops on the right. Then take the first exit at the mini roundabout. Continue over the crest of the hill and down the hill out of town. Take the first right onto Elm Lane. After 200m the road turns sharply left, but go straight on over the filled in cattle grid and up the short, steep hill. Turn right into the field just before the houses - signposted Vallis Veg and Camping. DONT GO PAST THE COTTAGES at the top of the short hill, the entrance to Vallis Veg is before the cottages.
