This little write up will give you an overview of what our tearoom and campsite have to offer.
We are dog friendly, Motorbike friendly, and have wheelchair access. We have a wealth of amenities within a mile and places nearby, including golf courses, wonderful walks in magnificent country parks, fishing, beaches and if you want, just take the chance to unwind and take in the amazing scenery visible from all over the Balkenna Tearoom and Caravan Park.
In our caravan, motorhome and tent field we have plenty of electric hook-ups, and again, the sea view is always visible. The views out over the Firth of Clyde to the rocky bluff of Ailsa Craig are truly spectacular, and you get to see them from all over the pitches
It is a very basic, calm site for people who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of large resorts.
We do have drinking water on site as well as a chemical toilet disposal point, and dish washing areas. Toilets and hot showers
We have a nice play park area for the little ones.
In the summer the tearoom opens at 8:30 in the Morning to around 6pm, sometimes a little later. In the winter, these hours are a little shorter.
We provide a huge variety of snacks, breakfasts, starters, main meals, a vegetarian menu, and much more. Our pleasant team are always ready to welcome you and take your order, or show you to the camping field in our warm and welcoming environment. We have a fantastic selection of homemade cakes and lovely specials are also available on the boards behind the counter.
You can enjoy the breath-taking views from practically anywhere in the tearoom thanks to our huge windows.
in 2023 we recently added gazebo seating area, where we have canvas covers for when it gets a little chilly and we roll them up for when it gets hot, so we can take in the refreshing sea air. Even with the covers down, you can still see the spectacular views through the large canvas windows.
There is plenty of outside seating around, including in the play-park area.
The Isle of Arran, Ailsa Craig, Ireland, and the Mull of Kintyre are just a few of the sights that can be seen from Balkenna Tearoom and Caravan Park.
There is access to the beach straight after leaving the tearoom if you turn right and cross the main road.
Once on the beach if you Continue walking to the right, you will reach the iconic Turnberry golf course within a mile and then on to the lighthouse. The beach extends for miles in both directions.
