We're delighted to introduce our brand new Pod Village - The Hive. You can now enjoy a breakaway in one of our 9 heated pods which are nestled in our woodland area here at Ghyll Head.
Great for exploring or simply relax and chill out! The opportunities are endless here in the stunning Lake District. Just a stones throw away from Lake Windermere and with an amazing array of fabulous walking and mountain-biking routes on the door step our Pods are a great base to allow you to explore this superb part of the country.
Our location is second to none with Bowness-on-Windermere just three miles away with its bustling bars, restaurants and shops should you want to mix it up.
Amenities:
Our accessible pods are a great alternative to traditional camping - great for those not overly confident at pitching a tent! Our self catered Pods are ideal for couples and families and can sleep up to 5 people. Two of our Pods are also pet friendly.
Our Camping Pods have:
Comfy single beds with mattresses Under bed heating 2 plug sockets and 2 x 5v USB charging points LED lighting Lockable doors Outdoor seating/picnic bench Parking within the site
Guests will need to bring their own bedding or sleeping bags. The mattresses take a standard 3ft sheet.
Our camping pods are located in their own woodland area in which you can relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
Please note that we are unable to offer access to Activities to Pod Village bookings. These are available only to our education residential visits.

Nearby Attractions
Ghyll Head is situated 3 miles from Bowness-on-Windermere where you will find many visitor attractions.
For water sport activities such as kayaking and stand up paddleboarding we recommend Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre. https://www.better.org.uk/leisure-centre/south-lakeland/windermere-outdoor-adventure-centre
There is a beautiful walk from the Pod site around Rosthwaite Heights.A short drive south of the Centre takes you to the delightful Gummers How where you can see the three counties of Lancashire, North Yorkshire and Cumbria.
The site is a great base for those wanting to climb the larger Lakeland hills, easy reach for the Coniston, Langdale and Kentmere Fells.
The site is well liked by cycling groups with some superb routes for both road cyclists and mountain bikers.
For those of you wanting a different pace, Ghyll Head Reservoir is a 5 minute walk from the site. Fly Fishing here is controlled by Windermere,Ambleside and District Angling Association. Day Passes can be bought here https://www.lakedistrictfishing.co.uk/product/ghyll-head/
