Description
Opening Dates this season: 01/04/2025 to 30/11/2025
Our family farm is situated in the beautiful Conwy Valley, on Snowdonia`s doorstep, between the mountains and the sea.
Our family has farmed here for 3 generations.
We are open all year
Welsh Black cattle and mountain sheep graze the long meadows down to the salt marshes which fringe the banks of the Conwy river, in the heart of North Wales. The Backpackers Barn is a well established farm diversification which provides clean, cosy and affordable accommodation on an organic farm. The barn sleeps up to 16 in rooms of five, five and four.
The seperate camping field has a with a toilet and shower trailer (4 showers, 2 toilets and 2 urinals), with a large double outside sink. There is a fresh water tank and a waste water disposal unit.
We do NOT have hook ups so you can camp "off-grid". We`re sorry, but campfires are not permitted
We can safely store bikes, kayaks, surf boards and any other leisure equipment you may bring - walkers, surfers, canoeists, backpackers, cyclists, bikepackers and stag parties are welcome.
We also have plenty of parking space.
CAMPING £8 per person per night (shower-block on-site)
There are two pubs nearby, one of them within easy walking distance (1/4 of a mile) and one a 16th Century village inn only a mile away.
For the touring cyclist, make the Barn your home while you go and explore - Llynnau Mymbyr a relatively not-far-off 15 miles - just one of the many wonders that await you.
Walkers will be delighted with the Wales coast path, the Pilgrim`s way and the Welsh 3,000`s, more than enough to occupy any length of stay here.
Kayakers and canoeists regularly base themselves at the barn while they go and explore the caves of Anglesey and the varied lakes and rivers the area is famous for.
Nearby Attractions
Within easy driving distance is a wide range of places of interest - on the North coast, Conwy with one of Edward I`s great castles and its complete belt of medieval town walls.
Nearby is Bodnant Garden, Wales` finest formal garden (over 80 acres) with its famous Laburnum Arch. Just to the South is Llanrwst, a bustling market town with many surprises, and then Betws-y-Coed "the gateway to Snowdonia."
A mere 15 minute drive away near Betws-y-Coed, lies Treetop Adventure, an adventure course situated well above the trees, that even offers a 100ft plummet for the bravehearted!
