Description
Pitches: 90
Opening Dates this season: 01/04/2025 to 30/09/2025
Whether you`re camping in a tent, caravan, or motorhome, our unspoiled site offers a truly wild experience.
Nestled under expansive skies with sea views and surrounded by birdsong, Maker Camp is located on the breathtaking South East Cornish coast. From here, your views stretch from the glimmers of light playing off Whitsand Bay on a summer`s eve, past Cawsand Bay, and across the South Devon Coast before turning back inland towards Dartmoor and Bodmin.
Our campsite is thoughtfully designed with great respect for nature, providing an authentic camping experience. Pitches are interspersed with habitat zones of long grass, providing a home for ground-nesting Skylarks and beautiful butterflies.
Campsite profits all go toward looking after not only the heritage assets of Maker, but the natural landscape as well. Our ‘crop circle` pitches weave together long and short grasses on this unspoiled grassland, creating a mosaic habitat that cradles campers in their own slice of nature, protection from the wind and an accompaniment of birdsong and butterflies.
If you choose to journey on foot, whether you`re traversing the coastal path or hopping on the bus up the hill from the ferry, we`ve earmarked a limited number of discounted pitches just for you. These special spots are nestled among WWII anti-aircraft emplacements, ensuring unparalleled views for your stay.
Important bits and bobs:
- Electric hook-ups are not available. - Dogs are welcome but must be on a lead (long leads and ground spikes available for hire) - Fires must be off the ground (rentable fire bowls and log sales at reception).
Nearby Attractions
Enjoy freshly cooked meals at the campsite with our food truck wagon, or head on over to The Canteen at Maker Heights, a family-run business, who`s menu features a dynamic selection of dishes based on fresh local seafood and produce from nearby farmers and suppliers.
The Guardhouse Cafe and bar serves breakfast, lunch, and cakes, savoury snacks, and hot drinks. On Fridays and Saturdays, they`re open until 10pm, offering evening food from 6-9pm and a fully licensed bar.
With the Southwest Coast Path just half a mile away, dog walks and day-long hikes are right at our doorstep. A 15-minute walk south leads you to the twin fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, where shops, pubs, and restaurants dot the various beaches and quaint alleyways.
