Directions
Heading North from Ashbourne, or South from Buxton, take the A515. After 7 miles take the B5054 towards Hartington. Follow the signs through Hartington towards Hulme End. At Hulme End turn left at The Manifold Inn, then the first right, signposted Ecton. Continue along the valley following the river for 1 1/2 miles. (Sat nav will try to send you up the hill toward the back of Ecton - ignore it.)
From Leek take the A523 towards Ashbourne, turning left on the B5053 to Longnor. Just after Warslow, turn right towards Ecton, then right at the bottom of the hill (satnav will try to send you left - ignore it.) . Ecton Bridge is 1/4 of a mile along the valley. Nearby Attractions
Ecton Bridge runs alongside the Manifold Track, a flat and accessible walking and cycle route. It provides a great starting point to explore the many other tracks and footpaths that criss-cross the area. We have suggested leaflets to guide you on some of our favorite walks.
This is cave country. Our nearest and most spectacular is Thor`s Cave, just a mile along the Manifold Track. Further afield, the Castleton Caves are some of the best show caverns in the country; a perfect rainy day activity.
If you are seeking thrills, then Alton Towers is just a few miles away. Or take a cable car up to the Heights of Abraham. Pre-booking is advised.
We are within easy reach of Buxton, Ashbourne, Leek and Bakewell. We are also just a short drive away from the Great Houses in the area. Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, or the numerous National Trust houses and gardens in the area provide a great day out.
