Exit the A12 at Junction 26. From the first roundabout, follow signs to Mersea (B1025). Cross the Strood channel onto Mersea Island and follow the left turning towards East Mersea. Take the second turning on the right into Chapman's Lane and follow the tourist signs to Waldegraves.

Waldegraves is situated on Mersea Island, North Essex. The village itself is a popular visitor attraction with the historic harbour and local museum. The nearby town of Colchester is just 10 milers away. Colchester is famous for being the oldest recorded town in Britan and, whilst visiting the town centre for shopping, you can visit the Norman castle and adjoining park. Also in the town centre are Colchester Natural History Museum, Hollytrees Museum and Tymperleys clock museum. Colchester Zoo is just 20 minutes drive from the park and is one of the region's most popular attractions. Also close by are the Anglian Railway Museum, Easton Farm Park and Headingham Castle.
