If you are towing a caravan please do not follow your Sat Nav as this may take you up Shield Hill from Haltwhistle, which is extremely steep for a caravan.
Travelling from the east on the A69 continue past Haltwhistle and after approximately 3 miles you will see a right turn to Greenhead. After 100 meters turn right at the junction of the B6318 and after 3 miles you will then pick up our brown tourist sign at the Milecastle Inn.
From the West also take the Greenhead turn off the A69.

We are fortunate to have many local attractions a short drive and a huge variety of walks from the campsite.
Hadrian`s Wall attractions include Housesteads, Vindolanda and Birdoswald Roman Forts and the Roman Army Museum. Most guests walk to see the most famous tree in the world at Sycamore Gap, an easy and delightful walk.
Northumberland National Park and National Landscape Discovery Centre at the Sill is a short drive, bus or walk away. The National Park is an International Dark Sky Park and Twice Brewed Stargazing, 5 minutes drive, hold regular stargazing events.
The fabulous Kielder Observatory is about an hours drive. Kielder Water & Forest are perfect for water sports, cycling and walking.
Guests can enjoy Haltwhistle Outdoor Swimming Pool, Talkin Tarn and Walby Farm Park as well as the lovely towns of Hexham and Corbridge.
Within a short drive you will find the glorious landscapes of North Pennines, Lake District National Park and Northumberland Coast and Castles
