This is an excellent site which has had lots of investment - facilities are superb. Large, well-maintained pitches and a modern facilities block (with sauna, extra charge).
It’s in a good location, with Hadrian’s wall accessible directly from the site on foot. Haltwhistle is a mile away and has everting you might need - Sainsbury’s, pubs, take away etc.
The Milecastle Inn is a 10 minute walk from the site and is an excellent traditional country pub with decent food.
1 hour drive to the Lakes, 20 minutes from Hexham.
Excellent site.

Just a 1 night stopover on our way South - would have stayed much longer if we had time.
Good sized hardstanding with electric (super pitches with water and waste also available).
Facilities block was 5 star - immaculately clean and warm. The sauna room an added bonus - £5 for an hour and its your exclusive use.
Good shop at reception, two dog walks including an enclosed field to let them off for a run.
Staff were super helpful and friendly.
Would come back without a doubt - a really 1st class site that has had plenty of investment which shows. At £24 with electric a real bargain.
On a clear sky night its fabulous for star watching too.

Excellent site. Great location near to Hadrian’s Wall, a decent pub and the town of Haltwhistle.
Hexham is not far to drive, and Kielder and the Lakes are both within easy reach.
Facilities are immaculate. Clean heated showers, large pitches and the site kept in spotless condition.
Great site!

A nice site in a good location. Facilities are clean and modern. A good mix of tents, caravans and motorhomes, many from abroad.
The walking is very good in the vicinity of the wall, but some of the paths are in poor condition as you move away.
The pub food is very expensive, £9 for a cheese sandwich with a few crisps and a bit of salad!

This is an excellent site abs we stayed here twice over the winter/early spring months.
Facilities are very modern and kept in pristine condition. Site staff all very friendly and helpful.
Excellent access to Hadrian’s Wall and the town of Haltwhistle, which has everyone you need.
Will certainly return.

The campsite had fantastic facilities that were beautifully maintained and very clean. There is a wonderful dog walk with amazing views on top of the hill.
Although it was mid June when we went, the weather was more like winter and we really appreciated that the underfloor heating was still on in the showers, and that there was a big room with tables and chairs that you could sit in if you wanted more space. We also made good use of the Hadrian's Wall bus service that stopped right outside the campsite.
The bus turned out to be a godsend as it was too dangerous to walk down the steep, narrow, windy road into Haltwhistle, or even to the Milecastle Inn in the other direction. We were given directions for walking into the town via footpaths to avoid the road. It involved walking the dog through a field of cows, climbing over a wall stile and some steep steps, but we decided to give it a go, despite my partner having injured his leg. However, the start of the route was on the road and after having to leap into the long grass and nettles a couple of times to avoid cars hurtling around the corner, we gave up on that.
Sadly, although the site itself was perfect and in a beautiful location, we won't be returning because we were unable to walk into the town in the evening and so felt a bit isolated. I'm quite sure that this wouldn't bother a lot of people.

Stayed for a week in middle of June, two adults and two dogs. I can honestly say it's one of the best ones we've stayed at.
The pitches are a good size, hardstanding on large gravel, and ours was a serviced pitch. The facilities were absolutely spotlessly clean and well maintained, the ladies even have baths too (bit sexist! 😊).
Sauna and BBQ hut both added bonuses that I've not seen before. Really good dog walk, an open meadow with mown paths and picnic benches and a fully enclosed field.
Loads to do an see in the area, obviously Hadrian's Wall and all it's associated stuff, Hexham and Carlisle both short drives and lots more!
The animals are an added bonus too!

Warm friendly welcome. Brilliant wardens. Very willing and happy to help and recommend places to visit or to eat.
Excellent pitch. Beautiful views. Lots to do, for all ages, in local area. Haltwhistle and Hexham nearby, will worth exploring.
First class toilet and standard shower facilities. Immaculately clean.
Indoor and outside dishwasher areas.
Added extras not usually found at a campsite.
Lots of animal friends to meet.
Children's play area
Proper baths, with overhead showers.
Family room, with disabled access and wet room
Style shower
Sauna at extra cost
Lovely dog waking pathways and secure off lead paddock
Indoor dining room, with microwave oven, kettle
Toaster, snacks and hot drinks vending machine
And freezer. Children's games cayons and books to borrow available
TI point.
In all our years camping, around the UK, both with and without our children, this is by far the most well equipped, friendly, thoughfull and well maintained site we've ever stayed at.
Emails send prior to vist with offers and local updates info and packing guide.
The care and dedication of the owners and warders really shows in lots of little details.
To have so much to offer at a very reasonable price is an absolute steal.
Booking very easy to do online.
We have already booked for next year.

One of the best sites we have ever stayed on. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.
They were very helpful in the information that we were given about the places to visit in the surrounding area.
The site was kept very clean, and the showers were fantastic.
We could get a bus from just outside the site to Haltwhistle or Hexham.
Some lovely pubs in the area for food or drink.
We will definitely be back

We spent the weekend here as a base for walking in the North Eastern Lake District.
Great location, not far from the A69 or Roman Road, but very tranquil with nice views.
Facilities are immaculate and site is kept in great condition.
Lovely site staff.
Will return soon.
