There is a beautiful walk from the Pod site around Rosthwaite Heights.A short drive south of the Centre takes you to the delightful Gummers How where you can see the three counties of Lancashire, North Yorkshire and Cumbria.
The site is a great base for those wanting to climb the larger Lakeland hills, easy reach for the Coniston, Langdale and Kentmere Fells.
The site is well liked by cycling groups with some superb routes for both road cyclists and mountain bikers.
For those of you wanting a different pace, Ghyll Head Reservoir is a 5 minute walk from the site. Fly Fishing here is controlled by Windermere,Ambleside and District Angling Association. Day Passes can be bought here https://www.lakedistrictfishing.co.uk/product/ghyll-head/
