Sagunto was first settled by the Celts in 5th C BC abd has been occupied ever since. The Castle and the Roman amphitheatre are witnesses to the many occupants of the town over the centuries. The Juderia in the Old Town hasn't changed much since the Jews were expelled in 1492 Valencia is 35 kms away, and the City Of Arts & Sciences is a wonder of modern architecture. The Silk Exchange Market (Lonja de la Seda) in the Old Town is a World Heritage Site, and you must visit the Bioparc, on the outskirts of the city. With the advent of the new High Speed train (AVE) Madrid is less than 2 hours away from Valencia. The beach at Malvarrosa de Corinto is a protected site, cleaned by hand by the council, & is a mixture of sand & pebbles. About 10 minutes walk along the beach is a naturist beach.
