 The location is great for visiting the falls at Aysgarth and as a base for local walks, however the views from the site are very limited.
The staff were very welcoming and the evening meal we had in the Falls hotel was excellent. Quality ingredients, prepared and served to a very high standard and good value for money.
The restaurant and bar area in the hotel were finished to an equally high standard and with tasteful decor.
The biggest disappointment was the campsite facilities which were at odds with the high standard of the hotel.
What can best be described as four small wooden huts, with wetroom linings on their insides. Two, each containing a toilet and washbasin and two, each containing a shower. Very basic, cold, badly lit and not inviting.
Pot washing is done at three free standing stainless steel sinks, all located outside and with no cover whatsoever. Fortunately it was a dry day when we stayed, but it wouldn't have been much fun in a downpour.
Two lose black bin sacks were placed by the sinks for rubbish with no obvious recycling options, nor lidded bins for the bags to go in.
For the £25 a night hardstanding pitch fee (+ EHU which we didn't need), I think the facilities need to be improved.
A shame really as the site has a lot of potential.
My "Site Facilities" and "Value for money" ratings are based on the campsite and not the Hotel & Restaurant.

Location great.
Shame the approach to the campsite is a skip with overflowing rubbish.
Manager did his best to help resolve a problem.
Hard standing for campers, grass for tents only.
Showers and toilets need a upgrade as worst I have ever seen. Washing up exposed to elements no cover at all. Only 1 small dustbin which wasn’t emptied.
If the owner would upgrade the toilets and showers this would be a great site.

Does what it say's on the tin,
Basic site (read site description that's why in ratings it's a 5 ) great location, good site, we only used caravan facilities, hard standing a definite requirement this time of year,
Worth every penny of the £15 a night this is the price that all other sites should be this time of year irrelevant of facilities provided.
£30+ a night other sites want to charge is robbery & taking the ***s !
Highly recommend this site will use again 🌝

The staff in the Aysgarth falls Hotel were really nice and friendly.
When booking with tents, there was only electric site's available, so I called to see if we could have them at non electric price as we didn't have electric hook up, unfortunately we were advised no still had to pay for what was there and had to book online. We still had to pay electric rates and 2, 2 man tents allocated to same pitch, so totally overcharged.
The facilities are not great for the amount of plots they have on site, only 2 toilets and 2 showers, both in a wood hut, with gaping gaps at the tops of the doors. The walk from the tent fields can be done a few ways, 1 which I feel slightly dangerous as a few square holes in the ground, so someone could have tripped and hurt themselves of they dodnt have torch.
Also we were not able to get booked in for any meals which was slightly disappointing. A heads up when I called would have been nice so I could have pre-booked, however lesson learned for future bookings. That said had it not been lashing down and really windy we could have cooked our own things, but only had small 2 man tent so impossible to make food due to weather.
The area is lovely and the falls definitely worth a visit however I personally wouldn't stay here again.

The most expensive parking spot!
We were due to stay for two nights however upon arrival and seeing the poor facilities we decided to walk to the falls and then not even pitch our tent for the following reasons:
The toilet (shed) was a shocking disappointment
The shower shed was similarly awful
Only 2 toilets and 2 showers - not sufficient for the size of the site and number of campers
The smell was awful, and there were lots of flies
The pitches were not marked well, only white stakes in the ground with no numbers (which meant someone else was on our pitch)
The pub cancelled our booking for dinner (because we were only staying for two nights we had taken no cooking equipment with us)
The washing up facilities were open to the elements

This is the worst site we have ever stayed on and the most expensive. One toilet to serve the whole camp site as the other one was blocked. Not cleaned the whole time we were there. Our pitch was opposite a skip full of old furniture but as the signing for the bins was non existent people on the site were using the skip to put dog poo bags and other waste in.
No facilities for drying your hands so people were using toilet paper. The remaining toilet became so disgusting that we chose to visit the toilets in Leyburn on our departure. Would not stay again and would not recommend!

We have stayed a few times but this is the first under the new ownership…
The site is perfectly placed for walking to the falls and beyond with lovely views.
The toilets could do with a bit of an upgrade and more regular cleaning/checks as there was no soap in them during our 3 night stay

We stayed over New Year for 3 nights. On New Year's Eve we had a lovely meal in the hotel. The location is perfect for visiting the Falls and lovely views from the campsite.
BUT!
I took a peek in the little sheds which were the loo and showers. 2 of each and 1 loo was out of order. Once seen we used our own facilities.
It was very windy which we didn't mind but a neighbour in a VW camper said he hadn't slept all night, it is quite exposed.
Take your DVD's as there is little to no TV reception
We thought £25 a night was rather steep.
My customer service rating is for the hotel staff when we dined there.

The website refers to a shower block and toilets. The reality is three garden sheds: one with a shower and two with a toilet & basin.
The lighting didn’t work in the shower shed and one of the toilet sheds. There’s no attempt to insulate our draft proof these sheds so they’re cold. These facilities are not well maintained or put together.
Considering the camper van pitches cost £25 per night this is not what we expected and consider the website mis-sells the shower block and toilets.

Nice quiet site, easily accessible.
Straightforward payment at the hotel reception where you're shown where to pitch up and the facilities.
Level spacious pitches on tiers.
I didn't use the facilities so can't comment.
