I thought this was a lovely, small and peaceful campsite with beautiful woodland around the secluded pitches.
The owners were on site at certain times both days and were very welcoming and helpful.
I liked the rustic, old-world charm of the toilet and shower being created from various recycled materials and the efforts to be eco friendly with compost toilets.
It's not going to suit you if you want lots of modern facilities, but it's ideal if you want an escape to nature experience.
Firepits are available with prepared logs and kindling.
The Horse and Groom pub was about a 10 minute drive away and did lovely take out food - it was fully booked to eat in as it was a bank holiday weekend and it looked very popular.
We hired bikes from Burley and cycling in the New Forest was fabulous.
We very much enjoyed our relaxing stay at Fish Ponds Bottom.

Wow, what a really nice friendly and laid back couple Ginny and Roly are.
Any issues that crop up are dealt with immediately, they are attentive
And care for there visitors needs
Although the site is small and has basic facilities that include long drop toilets they are regularly cleaned, the site itself is surrounded by trees and very peaceful the only thing you hear at night is the crackling of the fire and the occasional owl.
A real back to basics campsite as it should be (with the added bonus of a hot Shower and toilets ). WE had a great time.

Lovely, quiet and small campsite in the heart of the New Forest. Has shaded and sunny spots with only basic facilities (cold water, hot shower, composting toilets, no electricity, very little mobile reception for me with Three) which is perfect for some of us but may not be for everybody.
Definitely one for nature lovers as the deer visited regularly over the weekend along with plenty of bird life. Great walks and cycling route are outside the gate, watch out for the cows, ponies and donkeys though.
Helpful and friendly owners made it even more enjoyable.

A lovely campsite that was perfect for us.
No frills, lots of space, nature, stars, friendly, easy going. A hidden gem.
What you lose in facilities you gain in pitch space.
The winner for us is we are happy with compost loos and the rusic shower to gain a fabulous pitch with space galore.
The whole family enjoyed it, including a surprise pitch from our family with 3 year old nephew who loved it all. Including the tree swing!

Lovely peaceful site in the New Forest.
The owners were very welcoming and have really made an effort to maintain the site facilities and surrounding wildlife in an ecologically sustainable way.
Thanks for a lovely couple of days,
We would love to return again soon.

A beautiful little oasis of nature in what is already, after all, a lovely area, the New Forest national park.
As a cycle camper (yes, that's right, everything I need for camping in four panniers on my bicycle), I was looking for peace and quiet and closeness to the natural environment. And that's what I got - no electricity, no noise, no intrusive lighting (the stars actually look bigger!), no bar and no swimming pool.
There was a warm shower and coldwater taps but best of all, two compost loos.
Sometimes a campsite is better for what it doesn’t have than what it does!
The owners had time for a philosophical chat and even the other campers (including two other cycle campers) seemed friendlier and more relaxed than they might be on a larger, more commercial site.
Can totally recommend for cyclists and backpackers and everyone who prefers to see the moonrise than watch TV through an electric hook-up.

Fish Ponds Bottom was the perfect Bank Holiday weekend getaway.
I suspect Ginny and Roly, (the most hospitable campsite owners I’ve ever met), have created a site based on exactly how they like to camp; relaxed and back to nature.
We were little apprehensive that our gaggle of kids would be too rowdy but given the setting they got back to nature and loved showing off their “Bug Hotel” to Roly whom was more than happy to indulge their bushcraft skills.
As my little girl would say, a solid 9/10- hopefully we will be back soon!

I can’t recommend this amazing place enough. The setting is magical and needs to be seen to be believed, tranquil and very relaxing
There’s lots of space and we had a lot of privacy where we camped. It’s an eco site so no electricity and there were eco loos etc so it all felt like a wonderfully natural experience.
It’s the opposite of a corporate owned site so it was right up our street.
Roly and Ginny are also great hosts and were always very helpful.
