 Beautiful site tucked away in the stunning Elan Valley.
Barriered site/coded in and out.
We saw no owners/wardens on site during our time there.
Note on the reception door to just pitch up (I'm personally not a fan of this, but each to their own I suppose). Only left 5/10 for customer service as didn't see a soul.
5* facilities, clearly new and very well looked after.
We'd stayed before about 6 years ago so these facilities are a great addition.
Lovely indoor washing up area - which clearly stated NO DOGS, although there were a couple in there with their dog!
Laundry and dog/bike wash available too (£2 a pop).
Fully serviced (water, waste and EHU) large hardstanding pitches some private'ish with hedges.
You can walk to the Elan Valley Visitor Centre (further than we remembered LOL) where there's a shop, cafe and museum. It's further onto and up the first of the dams. There's also a 3 mile walk to Rhayader.
We had booked for 2 nights but only stayed for one (leaving late the next day) as we'd done all we had wanted to do.
Dark skies at night and VERY peaceful.

What a great site. A wide range of pitches (we chose grass non-electric, but lots of other options were available),
Great location and very modern spotless facilities. (It was a bit tricky getting through the heavy doors though, and we were concerned less fit or smaller campers would find them hard / get caught).
Great welcome and very friendly staff.
Effectively enforced no noise after 10 policy as well.
Great location for biking / walking with direct access to paths.
Excellent value for money.
Will be returning.

Great campsite with new toilet and shower block.
Great location for Elan valley
Approx 2 miles from Rhayader
Only comment was there was no grey waste on the hardstanding and was under the understanding it was a fully serviced pitch.

Fantastic site, very clean with excellent facilities set in a beautiful location.
Staff are very welcoming and helpful.
Would definitely recommend and will be back for a longer stay next time.

Elan oaks is a wonderful campsite and excellent shower facilities for disabled guests as well.
Wonderful place for easy access to the elan valley on a path also for rhayader.
Joe and Claire are excellent hosts and made us feel very well will definitely visit again.

What a great site in a fantastic location.
Joe and his team are brilliant hosts, from the moment you arrive you are warmly welcomed and during our stay they would take time to make sure you are happy with your location within the site.
The ablution facilities were second to none.

Everything was just perfect!
Could not recommend it more, the staff is friendly and very very helpful!
The campsite is large and has drinkable water everywhere, the facilities are extremely accommodating, the cleanliness was top notch and this campsite has gone above and beyond to make sure their campers are very comfortable with all the amenities. Even a dog wash station!
The location is also superb, with many beautiful walks nearby.
We found our go-to campsite!

Lovely quiet site in a perfect location.
The new amenities block is excellent just a pity the showers are not heated.

Great location, walk/cycle track right by gate leading in,
Very well maintained grass and yard standing with electric hookup,
Recent new shower/toilet block.
Great views around the site. Owners were around during the day.
Well worth a visit, would recommend.

Site is a couple or so miles out of Rhayader on the road up to the Elan Valley dams.
A level site and is easily accessed from the road. Barrier entry with a code that is sent via email [NB: write down the code as the mobile signal is not the best if you keep it just on a phone - but free Wi-Fi once you're in!].
Generous/spacious pitches - grass and hardstanding - seemed to be a 'pick your own spot' basis - and a wonderful location with views over the River Elan and the hills.
The loo/shower block (which includes a bike/ dog wash) is newly built so everything is clean and pristine and spacious. Rather oddly we met no-one from the management the whole time we were on site which didn't particularly bother us although it did feel strange.
Site is right on the Elan Valley Trail so traffic free cycling and walking up and around the dams and also back into town where there are some nice cafés/pubs (we especially liked The Arc café and The Eagles pub) as well as local shops a museum and petrol.
The Elan Valley visitor centre (with bike hire) is only a 10 minute walk from the site along the trail. Although the café there we thought was very average.
All in all a splendid position and we'd visit again. (can't really comment on the Child Friendliness so 5/10)
