Lovely quiet field on the edge of the village, hook up and water to each numbered pitch, on numbered pitch I was on you needed a longer electric cable.
I was competing locally with my dogs but if needed there was a bridle path nearby for walks.
Seemed safe to walk along road but no pub in village now.
Bill was very welcoming and would of helped me if I needed help.

Lovely quiet place, great views.
Very useful to have your own water with the electric hook up.
Perfect communication with hosts.
Maybe the grass could have been a bit shorter.

Easy to get to with the caravan. Friendly pleasant owner greeted us at the gate to let us in.
Quiet site just 1 Mile from Oakham
Stayed for 2 nights after our hotel cancelled our booking at the last minute ( did us a favour as we will use this site again instead of hotels when visiting again).
Fantastic pub 10 min walk from site with great food and friendly staff.

We were given a warm welcome by Bill n our arrival. The gate to the site is kept locked so we phoned when we were 5mins away.
It's a lovely peaceful well kept site. You may need ramps. It is a 5min walk from the village where you will find a pub.
The walk into Oakham is along the road - no pavements until in Oakham, so care is needed. You have to walk up a stee
P hill and down the other side into Oakham itself. Takes 45mins. You can also walk off road alongs Bridle paths and along the MacMilan Way to Rutland Water at Manton Village. The Horse and Jockey Pub was being refurbished.
If it is peace and quiet you are after this is the perfect place.
On site facilities are Electricity, water and elsan disposal.

Good site but too narrow
Pedestrian gate to secure site for a cyclist to enter /exit , considering that the swing gate adjacent vehicular entrance is so wide.

Communication in advance was excellent and we love the position of this site and the warm welcome from Nancy and Bill, it is like visiting family each time we go back.
Pitches serviced with EHU and water and amazing views. Bins separated for recycling.

Stayed here just recently with our friends in our caravans as previosly mentioned lovely peaceful site with the pub just 10 mins walk away.
Lots to see and do in Stamford, Oakham and Rutland Water and plenty of dog walking areas near the site.
Just to say Bill the site owner made us so welcome along with his wife Nancy and we already planning on going back in the Autumn.

We used this site as a one night stopover. It's a little difficult to find so I would recommend checking on google earth first.
When we arrived at the field I phoned the owner and he was there within a couple of minutes, very friendly man.
Slightly hilly entrance to the field but OK.
Good water supply and elec supply.
If you want somewhere quiet, this is fine. If you want to me a the centre of the action then it's a little quiet for you
