Had a wonderful birthday weekend with all my family from UK and LA. The camp site was perfect, made even more so by the welcome of Kata and Andy. This is a small, informal, wonderful place to stay. We really did not want to leave. Had a session at the water park - still recovering - but it was such fun. Amazing breakfast on the site. Made friends with the other campers. Don't want to recommend it too highly as may not get in next time - but have to be honest!
Will certainly be coming back. Thank you Kata and Andy for making my birthday so special and for the lovely card and pressie!

It turns out Belinda Carlisle was right and heaven is indeed a place on earth, its called monkey island campsite!
If you want to escape from the madness and leave the stress and bustle behind then this place is for you.
This is not a shiny sparkly campsite and the amenities reflect this but everything is kept clean and works. After a few hours of relaxing you really wouldn't have it any other way as it just feels right the way it is.
The site is surrounded by lovely mature trees that offer shade and give the feeling of peaceful isolation and the pitches are a good size and set out well.
Kata and Andy, the couple who run the site are simply WONDERFUL, I simply can't say anything else. They are just full of smiles and nothing is too much of a problem, the breakfast set up is just great and they are always at hand to help out if needed.
The nights are like fairy town with the fire pits and the lovely subtle lights in the trees and around the communal tents and you go to sleep looking forward to the bacon egg roll in the morning.
I could just go on and on but if you truly want to relax for a few days surrounded by stunning countryside book now.

What a lovely break! There's everything you need here. We enjoy the peaceful, natural beauty of the New Forest and we couldn't have picked a better destination. Jude runs the site, she's helpful, knowledgeable, and very sweet, and she can provide fire baskets if you need them. The campsite looked pretty, especially in the evenings with the little lights marking the way. Thank you for creating a warm and welcoming place for people to visit in such a beautiful area.

Well, it's been a good while since I lasted pitched a tent, and Greenfield was a wonderful re-introduction into camping. This campsite must be commended firstly, for its wonderful owners- Jude and Gildrado. Jude is very approachable, friendly and extremely helpful. Gildrado is the camps handy man, knocked us up a fire pit in 5 mins flat; was too, on-hand whenever required!
The site itself is very 'organic', no frills; but comfortable and well placed. Situated to the west area of the forest, near Fordingbridge, there's access to some lovely walks and a common heathland for family games. Our personal fave was ghost hunting to tire-out my sprogs so that we could open the vino and get out the guitar! The campsite is fire-friendly, so brilliant for marshmallow toasting and smorf making. Of particular enjoyment was the general feel- we're a loud and sociable bunch- most other campers were too, lots of characters. One night we had our guitars playing and singing to the top of our lungs; at one point, the whole of the campsite joined in- wonderful memories; 'Help! I need somebody!'
There is a farm shop approximately 10 minutes walk away with some beautiful meats and organic produce and a fantastic pub, approximately 5 minutes walk the other way- The Royal Oak (an ex- Royal hunting lodge). A little further on is an ex service men's club- if you like good company and reasonably priced drinks, then you need to get involved (including juke box and pool table).
I recommend this to vibrant, fun, non-fussy people. Camping for me is enjoying the evenings as much as the days, talking until the early hours, listening to music and mixing with new people. Also Tourette's friendly.

We have just returned from 2 nights camping here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was myself and my 12 yr old son staying and we felt completely safe here. The facilities were all clean and Jude and her husband couldn't of been more helpful with telling us where we could find places and bikes to hire and also helping when our gas stove wouldn't work. We will definitely be going back soon.

My favourite campsite so far. We're trying to organize ourselves for this summer, left it a bit late but looks like the campsite is expanding to 4x the size it was last year so maybe squeeze everyone in!
Terrific place to let loose with no boring rules to spoil the fun and games, if only other campsites could be the same. If you're camping in a group, try to pitch side by side to make visiting easier(greetings to scooby doodoo and shagga, betty b**b and mr magooey). Come and go without a hitch. Another reviewer said that booking as couples is a good idea, I agree.
I'd have given 10/10 if there was a bit more on site facility
-maybe a couple swings or slides, or even a water slide which could be enjoyed by the light of campfires with bathing costumes optional, how amazing would that be!
The washing facilities were good, we didn't use them but they all worked, and there's always the outdoor sink if people are in the showers.
I might be mean giving 9/10, as really totally satisfied, and the pub just the down the road. Fantastic! One or two more amusements and it'll be full marks this summer :-D

This is the first time I have posted a review, but this site warrants it. We stayed at Greenfields in August and it was a lovely friendly quiet site with direct access to the New Forest without touching a tarmac road. It is also a short stroll from the village pub. Already booked for next year and would recommend to our friends!

A very friendly place, no restrictions when we were there, a kind of do whatever you like free and easy attitude, that was just great for us, exactly what we were looking for.
This is a very good campsite, in particular for adults. If we had known just how relaxed the whole atmosphere was we would have brought along our whole group. We book as individual couples when camping together. We're looking forward to our next visit, and hopefully the weather will be as good as it was last year, but it's when the sun goes down the fun really starts.
The facilities are clean and tidy. We liked the outdoor washing up area. As other campers have said the wild Forest is some distance but once you get there it is well worth the effort. Pubs were at the top of our list, no shortage there. I hope the play apparatus is still available for all guests to enjoy. We can't wait for our next experience, I'm sure it will be a memorable one with us all together.

Greenfield Farm Campsite is certainly an intimate campsite, with only 4-8 pitches depending on the size of tent, and whether cars accompany the tents. The owners are lovely, and they have put great effort into creating a pleasant, clean environment with good facilities. There is one loo and sink with plenty of space in an old converted horsebox, which is well laid out and very clean, and two portaloo cabin style gas showers, again very clean.
There is an excellent farm shop nearby (1. 5m away) which sells everything you could want including daily papers, and it is not far to walk into the Forest, providing you enjoy a good walk, otherwise you can drive or cycle a short distance to any of the numerous forest car parks.
There is a good pub nearby (. 25m), and more can be found on some great longer walks which you can devise yourself.
Use of fire baskets is encouraged, and wood can be bought on site.
The ground was somewhat uneven, and the turf was somewhat thinned and hard with muddy patches (it was the end of the season though), so consider bringing good padding to sleep on, and an extra groundsheet to go under the tent to keep the main groundsheet clean. If you pitch early, you will have more choice, and probably better ground to pitch on.
Fallow deer, roe deer, and red deer, and rabbits were seen grazing nearby on walks, buzzards overhead and at night tawny owls calling from trees around the campsite. In autumn blackberries are prolific in the nearby hedgerows, so maybe bring an empty ice-cream tub to collect a few.
The road runs right by the campsite, which is convenient (although some early cyclists seemed to think it was funny to shout Good Morning Campers! as they passed to wake up any late risers), and you can park by or near your tent depending on how others have pitched in the small unmarked field. The owners are nice and relaxed about how you choose where you pitch.
There is no website as yet, and not much in the way of campsite policy on ukcampsite. Co. Uk as yet. I think this perhaps needs to be resolved as I can see this could lead to unnecessary conflicts due to differences in expectations on noise etc between campers. Dogs are allowed, although it says they must ke kept on leads at all times and never left unattended. This was not enforced, though other campers' dogs were well behaved and looked after and did not wander even when off lead. The owners have a lovely little dog, but he is allowed to wander unfettered. This was charming, although less so when dog faeces appeared around our car, and worse when the charming little chap urinated on our tent while we were packing up (bring bags and wetwipes if this concerns you). We don't begrudge the little chap his freedom, he was a very friendly little dog, and having him wandering around did add to the experience.
The lack of site policy and encouragement of couples in the description led to a pretty short night's sleep. What with well refreshed campers returning from a nearby party after midnight, and others from a nearby pub shortly beforehand, it was 11. 40pm when the music started from the camp fire of another tent. This was from stereos until a (very good) guitarist and singer arrived from the aforesaid party, and was accompanied by drumming and singing from other campers. Great if you want a mini festival atmosphere, and anyone else with an instrument would have been welcome to join in. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I can imagine it wouldn't be popular with anyone who likes an early night, or a peaceful camping experience.
The music went on till well after 1am. Drifting off to the strains of the guitar I awoke at 3am to the very vocal and amorous nocturnal activities of one of the couples in the open just outside our tent.
Why outside our tent? I am not sure, but I am guessing it was because they came up with new ways to use the tyre swing which had been hung up for children to use in a tree just beside our tent. I can't say we were that bothered, but with all the above I cant rate the campsite as particuarly child friendly, and needed to explain why my rating for this is so low compared with all the other factors. It seemed better suited to 'relaxed' adult couples.
I can imagine this experience would be some people's idea of heaven, and others' idea of hell. Fortunately we are fairly relaxed campers and can take these things reasonably in our stride, and see the funny side of it. Of course, the experience we had may well not be representative of every night at this site, and we would have thought it will be pretty variable depending on who is camping at the time. I think it is nice that this is a pretty chilled out 'anything goes' campsite, but until there is a clear policy which is communicated to campers, if you like your sleep, bring some ear plugs. Or of course, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
The ground is quite firm, and as for other camp sites in the north of the New Forest, quite stony, so we recommend bringing plenty of rock pegs. Normal pegs WILL bend, as we saw with other campers around us. It might be handy if the owners could keep some packets of rock pegs to sell to campers, as many may well not have heard about them before visiting, and they are not expensive. I think many campers would find this a help!
All in all, the campsite was great - yes, as with any site it had its down sides, but this purely related to the foibles of the other campers, and the owners cannot be blamed, other than for the lack of policy - and this sort of thing is what memories and camping tales are made of. We don't regret visiting, we had a great time, met some lovely people, and would happily visit again.
