A truly peaceful site, even in the last week of August. Spacious pitches, immaculately clean, basic loos and showers, plenty of hot water all day, good washing-up facilities and, possibly best of all, no dogs! Previous statics have been removed and lodges are slowly replacing them but there are still many good camping pitches with electricity and water close by. The fact that there is no pool, no amusements, no on-site shop, no on-site restaurant and no pets obviously deters many families - but it was ideal for us. The staff were very friendly;the welcome pack was most informative; the riverside pub (2 mins walk) produced good food and stunningly beautiful sunset views. We shall definitely return.

Stayed here on May bank holiday. Phoned to see if they had any pitches and they said if we didn't need electric we were ok. Very basic site, close to the Broards with pub/restaurant 5 minutes walk away.
Pitches were old static caravan bases but was fine for the price £13. 00 per night.
Toilets and showers ok. Staff helpful. Welcome pack very good.
Short drive to Great Yarmouth. Easy to find.

This is a very basic campsite - when we were there it was fairly empty which was great as kids had plenty of space to play and run around. The toilet block was clean and it had plenty of hot water for the showers. It is a short drive to Great Yarmouth and Gorleston beach. There is no park for the kids or clubhouse - just a basic campsite with good size pitches and friendly staff.

Stayed Sunday to Friday in October half term 2014, at £12 a night with electric, classed as low season as is April, this is a real bargain compared with other sites that hike the price up for school holidays.
Very spacious site with a lot of empty hard-standing plots that used to have statics on them.
Close to the marina and pub/restaurant although this had shut for the winter season, we used The Queens Head pub for a couple of meals which is only a short 5/10 min drive past the Burgh Castle ruins. We also used the chinese take-away in Belton where you will aso find the Tesco express, this being the nearest shop.
The heated shower block was fine with 4 showers and 3 toilets in each, plenty of free hot water, hair dryer and sinks.
We had lovely warm weather with plenty of sunshine for the time of year. Compared to the other sites around this area it was extremely quiet, even though it was the last week of the season it was however half term!
Note no dogs allowed.

I last stayed here in 1983 when I was a kid and it was wall to wall static caravans. I heard that they'd started accepting tourers and was curious about how the place had changed. We stayed over the August bank hol and it was so quiet compared to other sites I've stayed at over bank holidays. I can only assume that many people don't know about it.
The people who run the place are all really friendly. I'm not sure if they've been there long but it looks like they're doing quite a bit of work on the place. They have got rid of a lot of the statics (there are still some dotted about). They seem to be putting in what they're calling lodges but they just look a bit like park homes to me. The site is a bit like a work in progress at the moment but it suited us.
Location is great for strolling along the river. The pub (Fisherman's Inn) is right on the river and it's a great place to sit and have a drink and watch the sun set. Burgh Castle Roman fort is less than half a mile away and Belton is about 30-40 mins walk (there's a chippy in the south of the village next to The Tavern pub - very friendly owners and the biggest piece of cod I've had in a while). The meals at the Fisherman's were a bit of a disappointment, mainly the price compared to the portion size. They could do with either knocking about a third off the price or adding about 30% more food. The Queen's Head in Burgh Castle village did better meals.
The pitch we had (number 25) was level and the ground was amazing for tent pegs - no rocks, no bent pegs! we were a bit shaded by the leylandii trees behind us unfortunately and didn't get much sun (ie wet/dewey tent to pack up), but it was a pretty good pitch. This site was quiet but the one next door had a clubhouse which was quite noisy in the evenings - not really a problem for us but some might not like it. It all finished by about 10. 30 though.
We had to pay £50 refundable deposit for a key and a barrier pass for the car. It's a kind of skeleton key which unlocks many doors & gates; they have everything locked away from the toilets to the washing up area - it is such a quiet place that it makes me wonder what has happened to make them so security conscious. I guess it's just their choice but it's a bit inconvenient only having one key between 4 people. The showers however were good; clean and free and hot.
I would probably stay here again, I liked the quietness of it.

We stayed here for a week in May and I have to say we found it a gloriously run-down place, quiet, tranquil and without any frills of any kind! In fact, it was more like travelling back in time, being at a place that is truly peaceful, birdsong instead of boom-boxes! If you want to find a place 'far from the madding crowd', then this is the place for you. We actually loved the general ambience - we were told that a couple of decades ago you couldn't move in the place during a holiday season, but now the owner's turfed off all the static caravans in the hopes of redeveloping, we suggest you take advantage of the peace and quiet before everything changes to lodges.
Staff were extremely helpful and courteous, clean facilities, pub not too bad, although the landlady is a bit 'loud'!
Views across the Broads are amazing - it must be one of the few little hidden treasures left in this part of the world!

We have just returned from a weekend away at this lovely park and had a great time.
The location is glorious with lots of lovely views, nice and quiet.
The staff were all really friendly and helpful, welcomed us and showed us to our pitch, always happy to have a chat.
We had a couple of tasty meals at the on site Fishermans pub, where there is a lovely landlady who was very informative about the local area.
The showers/toilets were of a really good standard, nice and clean, there was even a freezer to use free of charge for ice packs.
My children enjoyed having so much grassy space to run around and play in.
Would highly recommend this park and have already booked to return in the summer.

This site is very pleasant. The area is very nice. Toilet blocks near the pool are clean but only one hook to hang clothes on in the shower and no curtain. In the second shower block there where curtains but with mould on the bottom of them.
The pool was closed. Childrens area two swings and a slide. Could not find site number as the map we were given only went up to 39 we were in the 50's. There is no shop on site but if you want to walk to the end of the drive about 1/4 of a mile there is a post office/shop.
There is a pub where you can buy food on the river front about 500mtrs from the site.
There are walks both directions from the site one to Burgh Castle and a very old Church. You can walk further and I believe it goes into Yarmouth. The other you go along the river and it brings you out nearer the Supermarket if you know which direction to go in once you leave the foot path. Not sign posted.
Also you pay £50. 00 up front for the barrier key, this is refundable. Could not understand why there was a barrier as not a lot on site.
Will not visit again unless their prices come down to reflect what they have not got. Then I would.
The site was well over priced for what they did not have.
£31. 00 per Night High season other site in area £26. 00 per night high season. Realised this after we had visited Burgh Castle.

Our second visit to this superb site. This is an excellent well maintained site. Very quiet. The pub is now open again and being run by Burgh Castle Marina serving excellent food in very pleasant surroundings. The bar staff were particularly cheerful and helpful. Guest ales being served so hubby was happy. Large plots and they were happy for us to put up a gazebo. Lovely views of the river and the only noise during our visit was from ducks and boats - which just shows how peaceful it was. We camped at the end of August/beginning of September. Pool was open at the beginning of the week but not at the end (probably would have been too cold to go into anyway as is solar heated). If you want a relaxing carefree holiday with no rowdies then this is the place to go. Lovely walks along the river bank and the sunset is to die for.
