Nice site - if you arrive out of hours you ring from a public phone box and the owners meet you - all very close! Liked the camping field as it is just that a field - ok bit of walk to the loos and showers - but all clean - not sure why key is needed tbh but may well be a reason. Not many other sites to stay on now Sunset View is all statics so would recommend.

The site is down a 1/2 mile stretch of single track with speed humps. We hoped that we wouldn't meet another vehicle, never mind if 2 vehicles towing caravans were to meet! This track was a big turn off for us. As was the set up for booking in. You have to drive to reception past lots of parked cars, before being told to turn around, drive back to where you have come from and then take a 'sharp' left turn into the camping field that you had already passed on the way to reception. You need a key for the padlock on this gate, which also has the toilet key on (£10 deposit).
The pitch was nice, large and flat with water, black and grey waste disposal fairly close, although you are unable to drive up to it. The toilets, showers and washing up and laundry facilities were a bit of a walk away. The ladies were all immaculately clean, however the men's were left for several days without cleaning. The showers are push button so you aren't able to control your own temperature, but they were decent. The laundry was token controlled, which were purchased from reception (£1 each token which 2 tokens did us a wash and a tumble dry. You could only do a fast wash though as the machine was broken and appeared that it had been for some time). It also has a book exchange.
The dog walk is a little pointless. It is a narrow stretch of grassed area which isn't fenced in and you cannot let dogs off the lead anywhere on site, also there are signs on the dog walk to not let your dog foul. When they gotta go! There are also no ball games signs on the big field.
We walked into Tewkesbury on 3 occasions via the A38 which was 3 miles (4 miles to the medieval festival) as the buses were few and far between (when they turned up!) ended up having to get taxis back due to the unreliable buses, at a cost of £7 one way (£2. 50 return for the bus). We were advised by the owner that there was a nice walk by the river which brings you out near to Tewkesbury town, however it is all overgrown and not recommended. The local pub did not allow dogs in but we were welcome to sit on the wall outside next to the busy A38 to drink our drinks! The local shop is in Twyning, 2 miles away, which was a nice cycle ride along a quiet country road through the village of Church End.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend to Dawleys. The site is lovely and quiet apart from the morning birdsong which I certainly wont complain about.
As other reviews have mentioned it is quite a trek to the toilets from the camping field, but the showers are lovely, warm and clean. They are push button type showers but it lasts ages. Only having one key is a bit of a pain but manageable.
Overall a lovely quiet site we will definitely be back.

We recently stayed at Dawleys for the medieval weekend, and were attracted by the prospect of doing the river walk into tewkesbury, unfortunately there was no information available and we had to make our own way along the road,.
The site was quiet and spacious, a bit of a trek to the toilets but they were clean and plenty of hot water, only 2 showers so may be busy at high season? As detailed in other reviews, a second key would have been handy for couples wanting to visit showers / toilets at same time.
The pub at the top of the lane was nice and friendly, didn't serve food but quite happy to ring local take aways for you, and allow you to eat food in pub.
The gate locking system made you feel safe and secure especially at night time, with camping in small tents.
All in all I nice site, and close to tewkesbury itself, regular bus route into town at top of lane. Would probably use site again and recommend

Our first time camping and we would def go back. Lady on the phone when I booked it was very good and helpful.
Kids loved it, just simple playing football, bat n ball etc a real easy time. Lovely toilets and showers, we didn't find 1 key a problem.
Tewkesbury just down the road is lovely. Kids loved the pool which is ideal for little ones as there's a separate shallow section with rock pools etc. Evesham is great for the kids as it has a fab park and water play area. Stratford upon avon is lovely to walk around to, we did park and ride which was so easy and dropped us right in town. Went on a boat ride which was nice.
The road down to the site is a bit narrow and bumpy but not a problem, kids thought it was fun. Its a nice secure place if you have kids, you can relax knowing they cant go out of eyesight.
Would def recommend for a laid back break.

Pro's:- Lovely flat very quiet site, spacious pitches, clean showers and toilets and washing up area (a little distance from the touring field), helpful owners, padlock on gate to enter site ensured privacy.
Con's:- Whilst it is nice to have a key for the toilets it was only one key per pitch so that in the morning myself and my hubbie had to either go for a shower together or one of us had to wait until the other one returned. So in our opinion it would be better to have perhaps two toilet keys per pitch or better still to have coded key pads on the doors and perhaps change the code weekly. The other people were were camping with also thought that one 1 key per pitch was awkward.
Please also be aware that the approach road to Dawleys is VERY narrow there is no way that two cars going in opposite directions could pass one another let alone two vehicles towing. There is a passing place but the road is 1/2 mile long, so that every time we went in/out I prayed that we wouldn't meet anyone coming the other way.
Reading this it appears that the cons outway the pros but they don't Dawleys is a lovely site and one that we will definitely visit again.

This is a nice site. Very well maintained with good clean shower/toilet blocks. We stayed in our Folding Camper for the medieval festival. There is a charge of £10 for the shower & gate key but this is refunded when you leave.
Only a couple of slight niggles was that from the touring camping field it was a bit of a walk to the toilet / shower block & despite what the green tag, that everybody was issued with about owners cleaning up if their dogs foul, we found some dog poo by our electric hook up pitch as we were leaving but that is not the fault of the owners. Other than that we will visit again & would recommend.

We visited the site the weekend of Vanfest but there was still plenty of space. We were welcomed at reception and one of our group (2campers and a tent)borrowed an extra long cable for the electric hook up. The site was level and spacious, with electric points, water, rubbish points and chemical loo disposal all easily accessible. The toilet block was clean and bright, each camping unit had a key to get in to the block and the gated camping field. Only 2 showers but fine in low season. Unlimited hot water. Will definitely visit again. Very handy for the Three Counties Showground.

Lovely site. Have visited here three times in total, twice for short stays last summer, and this year returned to get away from it all for two nights.
Plenty of space for tent pitches, good flat ground, convenient drinking water taps and bins. Short walk to the toilets through field and past statics etc, but distance ensures privacy. Toilets and showers 10 out of 10 - beautifully clean and well designed. Showers lovely and warm, and push button which I find easier to use when you need to rootle around for things in your wash bag. Nice space for changing too.
Excellent washing up space, very hot water, again beautifully clean. Also book swap which is nice too.
Good walking from door - nice walk along river path to Tewkesbury - good for general shops and sights too. There is no stuff to entertain kids - but there is plenty of space to play and it is very secure, on each occasion we have been we have witnessed children having a wonderful time - running around, watching rabbits, seeing a toad in a hole etc! For us it attracts the right sort of fellow campers.
Friendly manager - remembered us from previous year. Very well run site. Great for a peaceful (apart from birdsong) break.

Stayed here for one night on the way from the Peak District to Cornwall.
Very well kept site, picnic tables in the camping field, which were handy as we were using a pop-up tent.
We arrived very late (by arrangement) and considering it was 10:30pm the owner was very friendly and welcoming.
Great position for the motorways and Tewksbury.
Access road isn't too bad, it is single track but only about 1/3 is unmade and bumpy (more of an issue for caravans I suspect).
The pub is on the main road, about 5-10 mins walk down the approach road to the site - but we didn't get chance to try it so can't comment.
A good site we'll be staying here again.
