Arrived on site 18/07/07 down what was a very narrow and rather bumpy access road and then you got to the tar mac drive which was a lot better! (only room for one vehicle at a time so be careful) Once at the site we where greeted to a warm welcome from the staff, (who turned out to be a guy called Richard the site manager) who showed us to our rather large pitch where we pitched our caravan, awning and still plenty of room for car and dog! What a well kept nicely run site where it seemed that the customer was the priority and not the making of money that could be made due to the size of the site. On walking around both the touring and static sites it was clear that everyone took pride in the up keep of the site and where all very friendly! Toilet and shower facilities where very clean and tidy (a credit to the staff) The town of Tewksbury is only 5 Min's away by car and about 30 Min's on foot with all you could ask for. Local pub within walking distance (however when we got there early it was shut and did not allow dogs, shame) However on the Friday before we left we had the pleasure of the floods that completely took over the touring site. Hat of to Richard who monitored the situation and moved all caravans and tents to a higher level. Neither the floods and access road has not deterred us from what is and will be again a lovely site that we will return to again and again and again!

My partner & I spent an enjoyable week on this campsite before some of the nearby areas flooded. Despite a few thunder storms & short power cuts towards the end of our stay, the ground stayed firm & well drained. Although a charge of £1 per night per dog is made, you can still get some great deals. We saved £3 per night by paying in full at the time of booking (approximately 10 days before arrival which meant that I hadn't even had confirmation from my bank that the money had left my account before arriving on site). The toilet block looks basic & is a short walk away from the caravan field but is functional with free showers & wash cubicles. There's a laundry situated between the ladies & gents which also houses a free book & jigsaw exchange. The road leading up to the campsite appears to be unadopted as the neighbouring properties have pot holes outside them. However, once you pass them, the road dramatically improves. These pot holes did detract from the enjoyment of the holiday, but I don't think that the neighbours' failure to maintain the road to a high standard would stop me returning to this campsite. After all, you only take your unit in & out once per holiday & you can easily avoid the pot holes when driving solo. I would say that this campsite is a great base for the fishing lakes up the road as well as for visiting Tewkesbury, Ludlow, Gloustershire & South Wales to name but a few places. The location & road network more than makes up for the poor start to the driveway. We found plenty to see & do as there's beautiful countryside all around, Raglan Castle, National Trust properties including a gold mine & a local steam railway within driving distance. We enjoyed several wonderful meals at local establishments during our stay as we spent so much time exploring the area we were often too tired to cook an evening meal. All in all, a great value for money holiday.

A well-managed and very clean site. The owner is friendly and easily accessed from an old-styled phone box by Reception. There is a separate field for ball games, no clubhouse or shop. It is a very quiet and peaceful site down by the River Severn with good fishing. There are resident tourers and statics. I didn't see any children. Tewkesbury is 5 minutes away by car with all amenities. There is a pub within walking distance. The toilet block and free showers were cleaner than any I've seen, Quite brilliant. The one drawback for a retired pensioner like me was the access road which, while well sign-posted, is rather narrow, tortuous and bumpy. However there are passing points. The Wye Valley, the Malverns and the Cotswolds are all within 30 minutes driving time. I shall definitly be returning

September 2004 We spent a lovely weekend at this site. The weather helped tremendously because it was baking hot. We were very impressed with the toilets and showers facilities, they were kept spotlessly clean. The staff were very helpful and the camping area was also kept nice and clean. It is a fabulous place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We couldn't believe we were 20 minutes from home but seemed like 100 miles away. It was so peaceful and relaxing just the tweeting of the birds and the mooing of the cows in the other fields around. We also got to see a wonderful sunset which we managed to get a great photo of. The other users on the site were pleasant and friendly and we would recommend this site for anyone who wants a quiet weekend break.

May 2003 We spent one night here, on our way home from Devon. The site is easy to get to via the M50 junction 1/A38. Owls Lane, leading to the site, is single track with a few passing places and looks unmade - if not for the brown sign pointing to the lane, we would not have risked taking the van up there.
The tourer field is secured by a locked gate - a £10 deposit for keys to the gate and the shower block is required on arrival. The field itself is sheltered by trees round the perimeter, is large and grassy, with a mix of hardstandings, electric and non-electric pitches. Our pitch was roomy enough to take a twin-axle van & car, with enough space left for the awning, though we didn't use it for one night. Water points and bins are well placed and there are swings and a seesaw for children in the field. There is also a football field for ball games, though this is out of sight of the pitches.
We found this a clean, quiet and friendly site, close to the river and with a lovely walk to it. With staying one night we didn't use the shower block and nipped into Tewkesbury, 5 mins down the road, to shop at the Tesco store. With the access road in mind, I would use this site again for a short break, but not for just one night.
One minor question is the notice in the office about only accepting vans less than a certain width, which I saw as we returned the keys. This was not mentioned in their website or in the version of the Camping & Caravanning Club brochure I used to find the site. As our van is actually over the width, I would make a point of raising this with them before any future visit.
