Lovely picturesque site at the foot of the long mynd and Caradoc, clean, tidy and well maintained.

The site has recently undergone some refurbishment and is improved on our experience last year.

Town is a 15 mins stroll away, leisure centre next door and 5 mins to your nearest walk or cycle route.

Not a busy site so loads of space for the kids to run and play.

Thank you to the owners for a lovely weekend - see you again!

Very expensive for facilities, £35 per night, showers not very clean and water flow in gents shower was a dribble.

Couldn't lock gents loo or shower doors.

Good position for Long Mynd & Caer Caradoc walks & easy walk into village

Booked for 1 night and stayed for 7!

I agree with all of the positive comments about the site from the other reviewers.

The owners are extremely helpful and the location is excellent.

A 5 minute walk takes you to the end of the site entrance road. From there you can catch a local bus to either Ludlow or Shrewsbury. If you turn left you can walk into the town of Church Stretton in 10 minutes.

The town has an ancient Church, independent shops and plenty of eating places. A 10 minute walk in the other direction takes you to a pub serving good food and real ale.

We would definitely stay here again.

Can you keep this site secret? Because it won't be long before you can't book this site once word gets out!

The site is perfectly located for areas around Church Stretton and the Long Mynd. Easily walkable into town and Carding Mill valley this site is ideal for walkers, cyclists and more general tourists like us.

The site is reasonably level - I didn't need to use ramps - with plenty of water points. All pitches have electric points. Toilet facilities with a free shower were Ok and passed muster being clean and tidy.

The site owner was very friendly and welcoming allowing us to choose which ever pitch we wanted. Payment was easy via contactless card machine - which at £100 for 3 nights was very reasonable. He was worried about noise from the train line but as it's hundreds of yards away it was never a problem and actually interesting to see all the different types of trains used on the line (anoraks and flasks of tea not included).

We will definitely be coming back.

Please note this site can no longer accept individual bookings, or people who turn up on spec. The site is only open for pre-booked large groups of 20+ people as it is not run on a 24/7 basis.

My partner and I stayed at this site in June last year and we had a lovely time. We hadn't visited the park or Church Stretton before. The owner of the park was welcoming and there were plenty of pitches to choose from. There is quite a busy train track that runs at the bottom of the site, over the way, but this didn't bother us too much. We set up on a pitch on the right hand side which was bordered by hedges as privacy zone and we were glad of this. The site has electric hook ups but we did not need them on this occasion. The shower and toilet blocks were clean and well looked after with nice flowers in vases. There was a slight problem with their being no hot water for a day or so, but the owner soon rectified the problem. The town was only a short walk away but we preferred to cycle most days and enjoyed exploring the country lanes on our bikes also. We visited the caer caerdox, I think it's called, which overlooks the land and this was a long but interesting trek up a steep hill and through farmland. We had intended to return to Spring Bank this year but notes that it is closed for the whole of 2007, due to refurbishment, but we will definitely visit again as soon as we can.

This is a small site with well spaced pitches. The facilities are adequate though some might find them a little basic. They were very clean at all times and there was a plentiful supply of hot water. The only draw backs were:
The trains - the track is about a field away, though having said that the trains were fairly infrequent and only a few carriages, Watch out for the Cardiff steel freight train which rumbles through at three AM and scares you silly!
The rally field - when we visited two rallies were taking place one group were completely quiet and considerate, the others were not. On two of our three night stay they held a disco/kareaoke night in a large tent which went on and on until two AM!

I suppose we were just unlucky, but it did spoil an otherwise lovely weekend. If the owners of Spring Bank are reading this, please take heed.
