Please note we have been advised that this site has closed, and no longer offers camping, motorhome or caravanning pitches. If you know that this situation has changed in the future, please could you let us know. Many thanks

I rather liked this site as it WAS a handy wee escape from Glasgow.

WAS is the significant word there as this site ceased trading at the end of last season and is now closed.

In this area, though other nearby option is 500m up the road at the Cot House, but this can only take a max of 14 tourers.

Booked this site for Highland games weekend. After a terrible summer the ground was very wet and pitches were limited. The site is handy for Dunoon and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We arrived at 8 at night in pouring rain however the couple in charge helped us out and gave us a hand pushing the van onto the pitch. This was very helpful as we were all very wet and knee deep in mud. Toilets and showers are however a different story. Need pulled down and rebuilt. The whole site could do with a refurb and it is saved by the staff. Might have to return as our daughter competes in the games with a pipe band however would not choose to return. Dunoon seems to be limited in terms of touring sites.

We stayed at this site for 2 nights. The toilets were old fashioned and the showers were out of my worst nightmare - 1 only had a working shower - not that I used it. The chemiloo disposal point was left over from WW2 and stank. The whole site was boggy due to the rain and badly drained. We were lucky we were able to get out without a tow. The site if properly maintained would be beautiful but I will not be back and would not recommend it to anyone

We were the only other visitors here apart from those at their static caravans, the hard standing area we were allotted was perfect and it was very peaceful and quiet. The facilities were however, a bit of a stumbling block, it could do with demolishing and starting over, they were old and tired with water barely trickling out of the shower but it was warm but you had to pay for it. We didn't use the laundry but that looked adequate as was the dish washing area.

The owners were very friendly and helpful, just a shame the facilities let it down.

There is a shop 5 to 10 minute walk up the road and a cafe next to it which was well used by us.

Stayed here for Cowal Games 2011 and is an ok site and convenient for Dunoon. Could easily be improved with modest investment by the owner but seems to lack will given earlier reviews.

Toilets are dated and showers not great but at least better than none.

Over the 2 nights we were there toilets were smelly with loo paper all over the floor - could just be the clientèle for Cowal weekend though!

Bagpipers until 2am were a bit excessive especially for those on site with young children.

Overall, convenient but not fantastic.

Very pleasant site surrounded by trees with some hard standings. Managers very helpful and even will deliver your morning paper to your van each morning. Laundry facilities very good with use of whirligig to dry clothes.

Only let down is dated toilet block which could do with refurbishing. Top marks for only £11 per night with electric and if staying for 7 days you only pay for 6. Will use again.

Stayed here for the cowel games. Showers not the best but better than nothing! Had trailor tent last year but taking caravan this year so have got our own shower!
Friends wanted to stay somewhere else this year but hopefully we're coming back, loved it. When pipers started playing at 10pm there is no need to be quiet on this site, I love it!

My wife and I stayed here for three nights over Easter and really enjoyed ourselves. The site is on the main bus route to Dunoon which is handy if your van is in excess of twenty foot as ours is.

We found the couple who run this site to be very friendly and helpful enough to squeeze us in for the Cowal games which is something of a miracle at this time of year. We hope to return for a couple of nights this summer on our way up North. We would highly recommend this site.

What a great time we had when we descended on this place. Not sure if we made it to bed before sunrise any night and our hangovers were certainly worth the effort. Great place for young people in groups, the larger the better, plenty room.

Pub nearby but didn't visit it, as we stocked up at the garage also nearby.

The toilets were not very clean so we didn't bother using them. Severe lack of heating mean't we couldn't wash either.

Dont forget your wellies as the place is swimming. We had to use ground sheets when we wanted to lie out and watch the stars float by - if you know what I mean!
