Our second visit to this site and we were made to feel very welcome. Site set up explained by friendly, efficient warden and we had a nice, well sized pitch away from the many seasonal pitches but beautifully close to the very attractive lake, a fisherman's haven. We did have the railway line behind us but once you got used to it it wasn't disturbing.
Shower block really good and always clean. Washing up room very adequate although light was on a too short timer. Disposal points were close by.
We took our two dogs who were made very welcome, really good walks round the site and in the village, plus not too far to drive to sandy Southwold.
Only negative is the noise from the A12 which is adjacent, but with such good value for money (no extras at all) and such a warm and friendly site with the peace of the fishing lake, you can forgive that and it shouldn't be a reason to stay away.

We have visited Whitearch for the 5th time in 2 years this month, as we have found it a really fantastic place to stay. We camp by the fishing lake, although not fishing ourselves, it is a really peaceful place to pitch up.
The facilities are always clean, modern toilet & shower block, very clean wash up area & really good to have BBQ stands that you can use at your tent side.
The owners and residents are really friendly, very welcoming - and do look after the site very well.
Don't be alarmed by the railway line, there are 2 trains on the hour and they stop at 11pm and don't start 'til 7am - very sociable! There is little road noise, even though close to the A12.
It is a short drive to Saxmundham for essentials, they have a large Waitrose there, a co-op pharmacy & a few independent shops. It is a short drive to Woodbridge for larger outlets, and Aldeburgh and Orford great for walking, shopping & seaside.
A peaceful site, well positioned to get to lots of attractions, and one we will return to time and time again.

A very nice site, well maintained and managed.
We were given a very warm welcome and were personally shown to our pitch. The Assistant Warden even helped us to put up our tent as we had not used it for several years!
Our pitch was level and in a secluded area, slightly set back from the main site. This caused no problem as the site was generally very quiet. There were quite a few 'seasonal' caravanners there who were also very friendly.
Toilet block was clean, although the bin was overflowing for a day or two. Plenty of hot water on demand in the showers, and there was always at least one empty cubicle in the morning.
There is a small lake on the site, which is well stocked apparently, although we didn't use it.
The site is near the A12 and a railway line - however we weren't bothered by the noise from either.
The nearest pub was a good mile away (in Saxmundham), mainly on roads with no path, so we didn't try it. Otherwise the site is in a good location for Aldeburgh and the coast.
BBQ stands are provided if required.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Some pitches unlevel when site floods as the wardens had to move tents from the other side of the lake, but did not inconvenience anyone or let them down by not accepting booking. All positive feedback except the charge of £1.00 per person when we had a couple of friends round for evening drinks and a game of cards.
A nice community spirit with very friendly campers.
Very easy to book and the wardens confirmed booking and receiving of deposit by telephone.
Toilets and showers clean with excellent supply of hot water, soap etc.
Nice walks if you plan from map, lack of local public house not a problem. Nearest decent supermarket in Saxmundham.
Nice touch to supply disposable BBQ stands.
Would recommend for fishing and quiet stay.

We arrived at 9 pm in the evening and were greeted by the 2 friendly owners. They showed us the toilet blocks, were to dump rubbish, too our pitch and were to get water. The toilets were clean and tidy and well maintained. On the site there is a fishing lake which we did not use apparently it was very well stocked.
There were a lot of please do not signs around and on the hut as we entered the site it reminded campers that the site was a no cycling site. Although the A12 was close by there was little road noise.
I would highly recommend this site.

We booked last minute when we saw the weather forecast and we are really glad we chose the right place to stay. The welcome was probably the nicest we have ever had. It was very laid back and peaceful apart from a bit of background noise from the A12 which soon quietened down after the rush hour. Incredibly easy to find, literally off the A12! Beautiful fishing lake. Good, clean facilities. Small shop on site for last minute things you forget and somewhere to freeze ice blocks (no charge, unlike some sites).
The lake could be a temptation for very young children but there is a fenced off area for families. Mostly caravans but lovely pitching for tents either above the lake on slightly sloping ground or round the far side where it was really easy to get our pegs in!
We had our bikes with us and cycling to nearby towns was really easy and quiet on the roads. We will definitely use this site again.

Just Returned from our first stay at this site.
Had an excellent weekend. Site is well laid out and in a nice setting around the lake.
Owners are very friendly and helpful, and relaxed about departure times, which is always a bonus.
Vehicles are left away from the site in a separate car park which is secured at night. This cut down a lot on vehicle movements around the site and contributed to the peaceful environment. Apart from faint road noise and a slow, local service, train trundling past no more than three or four times a day it was almost silent all weekend (apart from the young ducks waddling about!).
Well worth a visit. We will return

We have been to this site twice over the last couple of months, when we called in to "view" the site with an intention of booking, we were greeted by a friendly couple who run the site, invited to look round and given a leaflet displaying everything available, even details on the fishing. Our first visit, on arrival we were greeted again and shown to the pitch, impression "what a friendly crowd". The fishing was the main thing that drew us, and a very helpful bailiff even running through the rules and regulations (which quite honestly means that they look after the site good and proper). The showers and toilets were very clean, a small but well stocked shop for "fishing items", ice creams and basic items. We liked it so much we went back a fortnight later, to be honest its only a smallest site but one that we will go back to time and time again. Its a quiet place, nice not to have children riding around on bicycles!. Well maintained, water taps are in easy reach, they have bottle banks etc, very Eco friendly. Certainly more for couples then for families, what children that were on site were supervised by their parents. A very well stocked lake, "alive with fish", some ducks just to compliment the scenery. Very clean and well kept, just a pity its not open all year. Still you cant have everything. Recommended.!

This site does not promote or allow any cycling on site, a lot of the pitches are sloping so take some wedges or ramps, also the playground is two old swings which need taking down, there is a train track to one side and the A12 to the other. It is more suited to older generation who like quiet, also you may have to park in the woods a fair distance from your caravan although seasonal pitch people seem to get their own space nearby. They charge extra for fishing which is very well stocked and also extra for the old tennis court, my opinion (Don,t go with children).
