Had a great weekend 2 tents with 6 kids and 4 adults everyone very friendly dogs made very welcome close to the beach
Bad things were only one toilet with shower for the whole site. Long queues for this and if someone had a shower then the floor was slippy. No shop nearby no other pub nearby
Ideal for families and back to basics for £10 a night in august this was well worth the money and we will be going back if it is still open as pub was up for sale and the future is not known.
It will be a shame to lose such a friendly quiet site so close to the nice beach and clear sea

Have just returned from this site. Surprised at how quiet it was, when we left we were the last ones, just 3 permanent vans left. I know they have said they will be closing but when
The Ship Inn on the way to the beach is closed, and so is the grocery shop. The chip shop is still open. Such a shame as this is the only touring site in this part of Norfolk.
The weather was marvellous and the peace and quite was wonderful. The beach is a 5 min. Walk from site, but dogs are banned from March-Sept.
Good walks on quiet lanes, Walcott and North Walsham are not to far for shops. Cromer is very nice and worth a visit.
As has been said you really need your own amenities as the only showers and toilets for use are in the pub, but they do give you an out of hours code to use them.
Pub serves good food and you are made welcome.

It was are first time on this site. Lovely campsite nice and quite staff are friendly and welcoming,
We came with are 3 kids, and we had a brill time, here they have a playground which is safe, even though they are near the main road there is no noise from it at all.
The pub on site had live music the weekend we were there, we did not hear it at all on the campsite
There are shops near by, you are only about 15 mins from cromer and only about 5 mins from the beach
We will be coming again and letting our friends know

Had a wonderful weekend here, nice friendly staff and a clean site. Excellent food in the pub as well as good entertainment on the Saturday night. Not very busy when we visited but it was quiet all around the area. Short walk away is Walcot where we had another good night in the poachers pub on the Friday, food and entertainment good as well. We will visit again toilet block was clean although only one shower and there is a good play area for children. The camp field is nice and flat although the nettles around the edge could do with cutting back

Just had the Easter weekend here, and is the first visit to this site.
The grass could have done with cutting but didn't cause any problems as the weather was good.
Pub prices were very good both for drinks and meals, and the entertainment was great.
The campsite was full as you would expect so getting in to use the toilet and shower was hard to get into, but a bit of planning and forethought and you will have no problems.
The beach is 5 minutes walk past a chippy that does great fish, and past another pub for a quick drink before you go down onto the beach itself.
Constructive criticism time.
The shower/toilet could have done with a mop and bucket being left in there, as there where some inconsiderate campers that left the floor flooded.
One other point is that there were no shelves or pegs to hang your clothes on.
For £13 per night with electric, this site is good value for money.

Once again another sound trip.
No trouble using the shower because we were the only three people there!
The weather was pretty good which always helps.
Ate in the pub on the Tuesday night and the quality of food was as usual exceptional.
No noticeable changes apart from the Ship is re-opening down the road.
At £10.00 a night you'd better get along and enjoy the last season on this site before it becomes history.

Just back from a weekend camping trip. Upon arrival was greeted by a female member of staff who was very helpful explaining facilities and where to camp etc. The campsite is in a field behind the pub, there are nice views across the fields. The pitch is very level, and there was a nice family atmosphere with children playing on the grass and children's play area.
In the evening we had a drink from the pub and sat out in the gardens while our little one played in the play area. Drinks were reasonably priced. During a trip to the toilet in the night I also saw the meteor shower which was lovely. At times you can hear the sea during the night as well.
Though the toilet facilities are basic, they were clean. Most tourers had their own facilities so there was no queue for us. It was only £10 per night for the tent, fantastic value. I would recommend this site to others and hope to go back again!

The great thing about this site is that nothing really happens.
Rumours abound about development but thankfully this area of the world likes to take it's time over matters.
The price of camping has risen to £10 a night per pitch and tents with no hook up are positioned in the middle of the field.
The rope swing in the children's' play has been removed.
The food goes from strength to strength and a special mention to Mark and his team who make and serve outstanding food.
Site facilities are still basic but I couldn't care less.
My three boys will grow up with fond memories of this place and I look forward to further visits this year and hope the 100 mile plus cycle ride from my home to Bacton takes place sometime soon.
Your doing a superb job people. 10/10

We visited the duke as a group of 5 families sharing 4 units. I have to say we had a great time. Yes there is only 1 toilet and 1 shower but we all seemed to manage. The staff were all very friendly.
The food in the pub was brilliant and couldn`t have been any better. Only a short walk to chip shop, beach and shop. We are all planning to return again this year.
