 A pleasant, sheltered area with fairly good facilities. Kitchen has a small fridge and a microwave oven.
There are laundry facilities (didn't use), hot water showers with 1 pound for appr 7 minutes of hot water.
There is a little beach nearby and a bigger one a short drive away.
It's about 45 minutes drive to Lerwick, and a bit more to the north and south of Mainland.
A good central location, which was what I was looking for.

Stayed here as my last night in the Shetland Islands. Booked by phone that morning, and given a pitch number.
It’s a beautiful spot and facilities are good, but limited. Whole place run by volunteers, like many of the sites on the islands.
Lots of small children on site (Saturday) who were enjoying their freedom, but any vehicle movement would have been through their games!

This was such a lovely place to be. As an older woman travelling alone in a camper van I was slightly apprehensive about feeling safe.
I had no need to worry ! It’s a perfectly safe spot and locals keep an eye out for you - as well as the seals that bob around you while you’re having breakfast and if you’re lucky the occasional otter too !
Its in a sheltered spot and although the winds certainly came, the van wasn’t too buffeted around.
The facilities are amazing - toaster, microwave, washing machine/ dryer / drying rack - all lovingly cared for on a daily basis by local volunteers too !
I would come back here and recommend to all my friends

This was one of the cleanest & best run sites we have ever used. Everything you could imagine is available in the central hub for campers to borrow (e. G pans, cutlery, fridge etc).
Showers excellent (bring lots of pound coins); washing machine & dryer also available (they also need pound coins).
Lots of info on all the islands, as well as where to eat. Nature watching hide on site too.
Very friendly locals; great walks nearby; cliff views are spectacular. Seals in the harbour - what more could you ask for?! Recommended!

We loved the peacefulness of this site and the marina was lovely to see. The facilities were excellent and very clean.
It would be good to know before you get there that you need £1 coins for the showers as it’s not something we often have with us, especially during Covid and the world being contactless. I think I’d rather pay slightly more for the pitch and showers be included.
But didn’t take away from a lovely break away

Really nice and clean facilities.
The site is situated in a small harbour marina setting and is split by an area for tents, and two areas for caravans and motor homes. Each space is separated by a bench and table.
The amenities block is super clean. You need a £1 coin for the shower.
The pier trust have also built a wildlife hide overlooking the bay. Didn’t see any wildlife though.

Fourth visit staying longer every time
A peaceful site
Lovely facilities clean and well run
So much to do in the area
Will be back next year
Went to a few functions at the hall and the local are so welcoming
The walking is so good with both long and short walks

Easy to find site - there is now a Tourist Board sign from the main road. A few miles along to Skeld with plenty of passing places on route.
On arrival we were surprised to find the site nearly full. Only 4 unoccupied spaces and two of those were reserved. It certaily is a popular sie so if you plan to visit might be worth booking on busy weekends.
Pitches were smallish, a wooden picnic table with benches between each pitch was a nice touch. The pitches were all hardstanding gravel, not sure enough room to put up an awning on those nearest the facilities. All had ehu and drinking water taps every so often. The grey water disposal at the entrance.
There is a chem disposal for which you need the key from the facilities building. You are given a key to the facilities building as its locked overnight but left open during the day. There were two showers and loos, immaculate. Also a table and chairs, microwave and kettle.
We arrived on a Sunday and were told that "Sunday tea" was on in the community centre. Just a short walk up the hill, fabulous event - a full tea of rolls, cakes drinks etc for £5. The place was full to the rafters, a brilliant community event where plants were also on sale.
The volunteers who run the site are brilliant, people are up and down all day making sure everything is sorted and people are booked in.
We paid £18 including electric for a night. Would use again.

I arrived here planning to camp for a night or two and ended up staying for nine! This little campsite is just perfect, you really won’t want to leave.
The tent area is flat and there are electric hook ups if you need them. The facilities are spotless with warm showers, a washing machine and a lovely kitchen. And the volunteer wardens, Josephine, Jim and Nadja are great ambassadors for the Shetlands with all sorts of advice and knowledge. There is also reliable WiFi.
It is perfectly placed to explore the area around Lerwick, the North and South Mainland and also further afield. You will fall asleep listening to Snipe and Eiders.
If you are camping or caravanning on Shetland you simply have to come here.
