 What a truly brilliant find!

The pitches are great as are the facilities.

The pub next to the pitches was great and really convenient.

The staff were very efficient which was a lovely refreshing change!

We will be going back soon.

We travelled with 2 other families and we all loved the site.

The owners and staff could not have been more helpful,

The toilet and shower was really clean.

It’s a small site but has a kids play area and some lovely walks nearby.

We ate in the pub marquee one night and the food and service was amazing.

Lovely, small, friendly site

We will definitely be returning.

We had high hopes that this site would have improved since new owners had taken over. In the past the site was used by semi permanent with commercial vehicles and not really a touring park. We arrived on the Friday and had an amazing welcome by the new owners and they told us of their plans for the site, which included definitely no long term pitches or commercial vehicles.

The facilities were basic but very clean and we were happy and booked a table to eat in the pub for the next evening.

On closer inspection of the site we found discarded toilet cassettes, TVs, and general rubbish.

The next day to our surprise semi permanent people pitched next to us with a huge awning and a commercial vehicle, the awning was only 3 feet away from our motorhome. They decanted a full size fridge and freezer.

We felt very let down by the new owners for misleading us and we left the site along with another couple.

Such a shame as could be a lovely site. Let's hope the new owners stick to their plan but We would definitely advise people to check before they pay. It's not cheap at £20 a night out of season.

One toilet (not very clean) and one shower is inadequate for an 11 pitch sloping site, and no dishwash facilities at all for campers. It's true pub loos can be used when open but that's not until midday.

Several of the units appear to be semi-permanent

£24 for two adults plus electricity is very expensive.

Situated at the rear of a country pub and far enough away from the main road for traffic noise not to be a problem. Hall and Woodhouse ales served by some very charming lasses. Eating at the pub is rewarded by a 15% discount and the food is excellent! The pub opens every day for food and drink Mon-Fridays 11-3 and 6-11, Sats/Suns 12-11ish. The beer garden sports a bbq but only used on 'Bikers Nights and village occasions'. There is a children's play area in the beer garden which at times can be noisy if one wants to sit out by their camper/tent. There is a sign outside stating it's 'Bikers Night' every Thursday. Don't be put off by that as most 'bikers' turn up in cars!

The campsite itself is on a gentle slope which will require chocks to level campervans/motorhomes and caravans. Grass appears to be cut on a regular basis. There is one 'hard standing' which is made of broken paving slabs which are loose and possibly could cause a twisted ankle or two if not aware.

Drinking water tap is on the side of the ablution block and underneath a tree which drops water and sap on the person filling up. The tap is of the push timer type and has no hose for the larger water carriers. Alongside this separated by a fence is the chem disposal point. No problem there except again a push button tap with no hose making it awkward for cleaning your loo box.

The toilet and separate shower doors have a push button code entry system which does not work. The landlord said there were internal locks once inside. Ok yes there were but within three days these had been broken by 'persons' who didn't think of knocking before wrenching the doors open to reveal the chef standing in the altogether under the shower! Thanks goes to the chef and another member of staff for the quick repair jobs.

The Laundry facility is no longer available again caused by campers breaking the equipment (3 washing machines in a season apparently).

UKCampsite states this is a Caravan Club CL site however the pub displays a Camping and Caravanning sign which I understand has been in place for four years. Perhaps an update is required.

There are no shops close by but Blandford Forum is only 3 miles down the road with a Morrisons store.

Be aware that if you get caught short Dorset CC charge you 20p for the privilege!

Would I stop here again? Most definitely yes!

Dirty toilet with no paper & a broken door lock, one shower with moldy curtain & needing a good clean. Sorry but that's not acceptable & we certainly won't be stopping there again!

We got the feeling that it was probably quite nice at one time but has been let go, needs a good sort out & some money spending. Nice local village but no facilities within walking distance.

We stayed here for a couple of nights just before New Year in 2012 and had a really nice stay. The site is small as you'd expect from a certificated site - just a fairly basic field behind a pub - but the view was great! We parked up at night and did have some trouble with the water point (their tap has a short length of hose already attached and we didn't have a fitting to attach our hose to get the water into the van). It can also be a little tight in the car park to get alongside the water point. The site slopes a bit but we managed without levelling blocks and it wasn't too muddy even given the horrid weather. There is a free shower (I LOVE free showers) with lots of hot water and the toilet is fine (only one though).

There isn't much in Tarrant Keyneston other than the pub but it isn't far from Blandford Forum (not walkable though). There are some nice bridle paths and footpaths very close to the site which was great for dog walking.

Had Sunday dinner in the pub - you get 15% discount when camping - and it was great. The pub people are really friendly and the food was lovely. All local and reasonably priced. Large gluten free selection as well. We'll definitely go back to explore a bit further.

The pub was good with good ale and food and this should be a grand little site. Sadly the pitches are rough and the owner was packing in tents between the vans believing only 6 ft spacing was required.

The one loo and one shower were inadequate for the number of guests and were not serviced between Thursday pm and Monday am so were not pleasant. The drains were evidently blocked.

This is a great shame as the pub was well run and this should be a little goldmine, though not from over crowding it!

If the hosts read this I hope that they take the positives and improve on the negatives and that their business will grow with repeat custom.

A lovely site, great pub and really nice landlord. Toilet and shower could do with lick of paint but they are clean.

Key entry to the shower and toilet and the key ring gets a discount in the pub. Lots to see in the area, including a top geocache trail of 10 in a row that starts close to the site.

A tesco and waitrose not far away and breakfast also avalable in pub to campers.

Playground in pub good for kids and food not bad. Loads of parking and relaxed attitude to pitching on site. Will return in 2013.
