The campsite is in a really beautiful setting which is overlooked by the impressive Mourn Mountains and the perfect place to begin a walk there.

First night we stayed was a little chaotic because it was bank holiday and there was a big school group doing Duke of Edinburgh or something like that.

The campsite was pretty much to capacity and it did show and had maybe been slightly over booked. We were lucky to get a pitch when we landed (and we had pre booked). The next night was a whole lot quieter. One of the ladies that worked there said that it was always more like night 2 and much calmer than the previous night.

Showers were good (hot) and plenty of space to leave stuff/get changed. Toilets were mostly clean once someone had been in after the big rush from the first night. There is a little room to wash up along with a few plug sockets dotted about to charge phones (mainly outside though, so tricky if raining).

Cafe was nice and offered a good variety of things at reasonable prices. We had a big brekki on our second morning when it was quieter and sat on benches outside to get the full effect of the amazing views.

Could maybe do with a little more cleaning when really busy and a couple more indoor plugs to recharge would be good. Would stay again, but would avoid busy bank holidays!

 Nice remote campsite ⛺️

Friendly staff, toilets clean, washrooms also clean, showers only warm but ok.

Would stay again. Ideal location at the foot of Donald and next to Bloody Bridge.

Had a great weekend at this campsite. Beautiful views of Mournes. Great clean facilities. Fabulous staff. Great paths for walks into the hills/ cycling paradise.

Lovely cafe. Quiet in evenings with no road noise. Think earlier reviews which are less positive were from a time before new facilities were built.

We would certainly stay again.

This place is absolutely stunning the views is to die for as for the camp well err.

£6 per adult and 3 per child over 4 is way way to expensive for a uphill walk to queue for a toilet especially with little ones.

The owner is more than friendly and really works hard patrolling the site day and night along with his other work. Infact all the staff on site where more than friendly.

This place could do with a decent toilet and shower block and maybe a small area set aside for children to play and it would be worth the amount they charge.

As is I would not recommend this site for families or long stay overs but if its just 2 people overnight then its worth the stress just for the views.

This site is advertised as a quiet family only site but it is far from that.

We stayed for three nights on a long weekend and instantly found that the facilities were far too few and well below standard. The male toilet (yes singular) had a broken seat when we got there and was still broken when we left, the two sinks are hopelessly inadequate for the amount of people on site. There are two unisex toilets in a portable cabin but we were not brave enough to venture too close as they had been surrounded by the youth groups that had set up camp beside them.

The women's facilities were no better and seemed to be constantly blocked as the cisterns would not refill to allow them to be flushed.

The two unisex showers were used as toilets on many occasions and were therefore unusable for washing.

The owners told us that they 'cleaned regularly but couldn't be expected to clean all day and night', however when the partying goes on till after midnight and the campfires even later, then I would expect the owners to make sure the facilities were usable for those kept awake, they were still unflushable and uncleaned the following day.

The barking dogs at half past six in the morning is an interesting touch but the humour seemed wasted on the party goers.

The site is on a slope and can make cooking awkward but adventurous, however did not cause major problems.

The view is spectacular and this could be a fantastic base for discovering the Mournes however the lack of amenities and much needed improvements that seem to have been promised since 2007 don't seem to be arriving soon, especially as the owners told us that they 'had plans to add more facilities but these things take time' let the establishment down.

With at least 60 tents on the site on Saturday I think that there must be enough money in the till to splash out on some luxuries like more toilets and sinks, perhaps even someone to clean them or at least an air freshener!

Beautiful scenery and very friendly staff. We had a wonderful time here with our 2 dogs. What I liked about this site is that you can light a camp fire.

When there was complaints about rowdy campers they were told to pack up and get off site immediately. They had a barbeque, bouncy castle and a disco which all proceeds went to charity.

We have a fantastic time at this site and we will definitely be back. The only downfall is the washing facilities. No hot water to wash your dishes and 2 uni/sex showers.

The location of the site is superb. You have better access to the Mourne Mountains than you have at the nearby Tullymore Forest Park.

The view of Slieve Meelmore is breath taking.

The amenities as covered are basic, 2x unisex Electric luke warm showers £1.00 Token for 10 minutes. Excellent cafe.

Beautiful setting, but major shortcomings. Toilet and shower facilities appalling, only one womans toilet working and one unisex shower, at all times dirty, please bring your own toilet roll.

Extremely noisy with people playing loud music until midnight. Not the family site it claims to be.
