Garden House campsite is located in a secluded and sheltered spot towards the southern end of Coll. The site caters for campers, Campervans and motorhomes.

The site is run by the very helpful and lovely Ken who keeps the facilities well stocked and clean. He provided helpful information and was around if you had a problem.

The site had a wash up area with fridge and microwave. A shower that was nice and warm (remember to take £1 coins to operate) and a selection of leaflets.

My pitch had an electric hookup; was roomy and near to the facilities.

Nearby there are plenty of walks and beaches to visit

One thing to note. It does welcome dogs

A fantastic stay in a beautiful campsite on the unique Isle of Coll.

The campsite is in the South East of the island around a fifteen minute drive off the ferry and the village of Arinagour. It is just a five minute walk to the nearest beach at Breachacha.

It is a short 2 mile cycle/drive to the amazing sand dune near Crossapol bay and Crossapol beach is just a little bit further on. Hogh bay is two miles the other way.

We also toured the North of the Island and the beaches on the North West side of Coll are breathtaking and rival some of the best beaches in the world.

Garden House campsite has probably the most welcoming host we have ever encountered in our years of camping.

Ken makes you feel like a welcome guest in his own back garden and looks out for anything that may make your stay as perfect and comfortable as possible. He even helped with some running repairs on one piece of our camping kit.

Ken keeps the facilities in tip top condition including the toilets, shower, microwave and fridge freezer.

Half of the campsite is inside a walled garden through a narrow, listed arch and there are electric hook ups available. There are also several pitches available alongside the outside of the walls and they also have electric hook ups available.

The stars at night are also worth a mention, never seen anything quite like it.

There are electric cables running overhead on site (and all over the island) so just bear this mind if you have flags or kids with kites.

A massive thank you Ken for making our week on Coll so special during our 2023 summer.

A little piece or paradise a 15 minute drive from the ferry port at Arinagour

Sited within a walled garden that I believe used to be part of the grounds of the nearby castle, the site in run by Ken Graham who couldn't be more helpful with tips about the island, where to go and what to see etc

The site has a nearby toilet/shower facility which also has access to a small kitchen with sink, microwave and fridge space should it be required.

A couple of miles away from three local and beautiful beaches and the RSPB reserve where birders would be in their element with the vast variety of visiting birds, also some lovely butterflies and of course the sea

Ken runs a tight ship and everything is meticulously clean and looked after by him on a daily basis. Nothing is too much trouble for him so if you need something just ask

All in all a great experience with everything you need, also not busy, I had one neighbour for the bulk of my stay, the site to myself for a day and the most other tents I saw were three, great stuff and thanks Ken for a lovely stay, sadly reality has now kicked in and I'm back home, I will be back!

Great little campsite, and Ken was mega welcoming. Bring £1 coins for the shower. Would definitely recommend.

Toilets and shower were very clean and the area for pitching the tents was flat and well maintained.

Garden House Campsite is 5 miles from the ferry port of Arinagour. The campsite is within a historic walled garden.

The campsite is in a beautiful peaceful location,

The toilet and showers were spotless and Ken was a charming host and a mine of information.

If you are in Coll I highly recommend the Garden House Campsite.

Lovely wee campsite providing safe shelter in what can be a wind-swept island.

Some basic facilities and a friendly and welcoming host.

Just a short walk to some stunning beaches.

Visited Coll for a few days.

Site is within a walled garden, so very sheltered from all winds. It's near the East coast and 5 mins walk to the nearest beach with 2 castles. It is around 2 miles to two other superb beaches, including Feall bay.

Location of site is around 4 miles from Arinagour which is only village on the island with a café, village shop, post office and pub. There are no other facilities else where.

At the site, there is a separate building with toilets, shower and information room as well as fridge and microwave. There is also good recycling bins.

There is a archway to enter walled garden, but if your vehicle is too large, you can pitch up outside the walls.

The people running the site and very helpful with knowledge of the island and places to visit.

Would recommend a drive to the far west of the island for superb views over Canna, Rum, Skye and Eigg. There is also the lovely settlement of Sorisdale to explore.

The island is much quieter that Tiree and although less that 2 miles apart, very different in landscape.

Lovely quiet campsite at the bottom of the island, (my favourite end ), five miles down the road from Arinagour. The nearest beach is over the dunes behind the campsite and there you will find standing in all it's glory and fired upon by arrowheads of spume. Breachacha Castle. There are two castles there actually, the original, built around the 12th century and the newer Victorian one. Both are lived in.

The campsite itself is perfectly flat short grass which the owners take great pride in keeping in best condition. Great pitching. It's inside what used to be a large walled garden. Facilities are basic not luxury but adequate. Shower is hot and very roomy. 2 small toilets with sinks and cold water and separate room with microwave oven, washing sink with cold water only. There are also outside sinks in the campsite itself. Swallows nest in places the owners have prepared for them and I was fortunate enough to hear the strumming of the snipe late one night as I lay in my tent. A goose flew in and woke me up in the morning (what a flipping fright haha). Now I wish I had looked out my tent to see what kind it was because when I arrived in Tiree I was told by a birdwatcher who was trying to break a record in bird counts that he had seen a family of snow geese in that area! Not sure how they got there though.

Great scenic walks to other beaches from the camp site too and of course fabulous for cycling. The owners of the site are really nice and helpful and have an idyllic garden round their own wee cottage. My friend Marion and I loved our stay and will be back.

Recently spent three nights on this very pleasant site. As other reviewers have said it is a fairly basic site but it does now have a shower - lovely and warm and with good power. Unisex facilities but no issues of privacy and felt this fully appropriate for size of the site which was not busy - despite our stay being within Scottish school holidays.

As also mentioned before the owners are very helpful and friendly.

As we had a tent were able to camp within the walled garden. A lovely flat and large space. Site is in a good location - the nearest beach is not the best in the area but it was a relatively easy bike ride to Crossapol and Feall Bay beaches which are beautiful(alternatively can drive to parking areas then walk). Hough Bay also nearby - lots of orchids around and corncrakes to listen to. The pub and village shops are a bit far for walking or biking (or at least for us !)

Mobile signal is very limited on the island and none here. WiFi is also limited but we were not bothered - we were on holiday !

This is a camp site! By that I mean it is about camping. The facilities are basic, one toilet and one shower in an outbuilding. But it has a kind of charm of its own. It is also a very peaceful location with a beach 5 mins walk across the field from site.

The owners are very friendly and helpful and this plays a big part in the site being user friendly!

Our camper van (VW, T5) couldn't fit into the actual walled garden camping area but they kindly accommodated us on an area of grass at the front of the house. (We'd not booked - just turned up)

Big vans would find it tricky to manoeuvre at the site so prior booking and checking with the owners would be a good idea.

Would I return? Yes, if visiting Coll again.

With a tent, it is a great site within a walled garden, on mown grass and there's also a bbq area.
