We have just returned from a wonderful 2 days/nights at this site. Yes it's basic but we like that. The setting is beautiful and the pub is great. The owner really helped us out, as we were booked in else where-but didn't fancy that site at all (another story) and we turned up here on spec.
There was a function on and there is load music but as a family who frequents festivals this really didn't bother us.
If you like back to basics but with a great pub on tap then this is for you. The atmosphere is excellent. The area is great and we had a fantastic day at the country park & inland beach.
No rules, toilets & shower were clean but basic-great value for money in my opinion-just hope they have room for us if we want to return!

This was our second stay. If you want a peaceful out of the way campsite this is the place. We found it idyllic. The pub serves great food and the campsite is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds especially the Cotswolds Water Parks. We stayed at the time of the Cotswold Show and cycled from the campsite to the show. The campsite is ideally placed for a relaxing weekend or for cycling and walking holidays.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay over the rather soggy Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend. We being my partner, sister and myself, our 4 year old nephew and 1 year old pup. We phoned to book, to be told it wasn't required and that all were welcome and were advised that the Saturday morning and evening might be noisy due to the local agricultural college's ball.
We arrived to a friendly greeting and were shown to the area where family tents were pitched. We were advised on the pros and cons of certain pitches (under the trees would lead to irritating dripping noises if it rained)but, were left to make our own choice.
Overall, we loved the freedom and sense of laid-backness. Our pup made doggy friends, other campers and their kids were friendly and everyone enjoyed the freedom to do or not to. The setting is glorious and there are enough small market towns for days out if you want or you can simply enjoy the woods or canalside walks.
The facilities are quite basic, but for us that was fine; the water in the shower blocks was hot and they were clean.
Yes, there were noisy, drunken, tired students still partying from the night before, but they were friendly and well mannered and we were fondly reminded of our university days. There was even the drama of a storage shed catching fire! But, somehow, this added to the charm of the place. The real fires and cosy atmosphere of the pub were very welcome on a rainy Sunday evening, as was the delicious food.
Camping guests were made to feel at home by locals and the staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return as we loved the feel of the place, however, if you like lots of on site facilities and activities for children this may not be the place for you.

Absolutely horrendous. And yes I do appreciate it is a pub with a camp site, not a campsite in the first instant. I stayed there with some friends over the weekend of the 6th/7th Aug 2011 hoping for a relaxing weekend with some lovely Cotswold walks.
The location of the site is great; but the amenities are well below par. Despite their website saying it has a newly built toilet and shower facilities for male and female, this consisted on 1 shower and 1 toilet (no urinal) for the men and two toilets for women; and all this for 30 pitches, some 60 -70 people.
However, I could have tolerated that had it not been for the very loud music that boomed across the camp site until 2am on the Saturday night. And no it wasn’t a function in the Barn, or some inconsiderate campers, it came from the pub itself.

Made the fatal error of camping here on bank holiday weekend. Absolutely never again. It was fine when we arrived on the Friday night, but when we returned after a day out on Saturday people were camped practically on top of us. To make matters worse they had babies with them who were far from settled. I have no idea why they put themselves and everyone else through it, it was misery all round.
Anyway, the site is pleasant enough though most of the pitches are under trees where the ground is quite rough and stony. I'm honestly not fussy and don't mind he most basic of facilities but the toilets are the worst I've ever encountered, 2 womens' and a shower (not sure about the mens'), and they were absolutely filthy. I'd rather jump in the nearby canal than use the shower. An elderly lady got stuck in the toilet due to the Heath Robinson locks and I had to help her out, I'm sure the same thing happens with kids.
The pub does fantastic food and drink and we ate there on both nights. It's fine for staying over after a few beers, but I wouldn't recommend it for much more.
If you do stay here there's plenty to do in the local area. Try Cirencester with its amphitheatre, corinium museum, market and wonderful lido, or Stroud with Woodchester Park and Minchinhampton Common.

Campsite nice and peaceful, except if they have any weddings on, which they told us about before we booked, and said it was ok for us to join in. The music did go on for a while, but what do you expect its a wedding,
we had two dogs with us and they made them very welcome, there was no rule's saying your dog must be on a lead at all time like other campsites, in fact there was no rules at all, just respect for your fellow campers and you will be ok.
Food is good, Staff very helpful and polite, dogs are allowed in the pub even when you are eating.
Toilets and shower for the ladies was ok, but the mens had no lights, so they used the ladies which was ok as there was only me on the campsite and you had your own key so you could lock the doors.
All in all I would go back

Lovely setting - gorgeous pub and gardens, close to all the Cotswolds attractions. Small and cosy site, great views across fields.
We had a great time, but - if there is a function on, you may be kept up until 2am by the loud music and general mayhem!
Plus toilet facilities are limited - 1-2 toilets for the whole campsite. Not enough.
Food in the pub was good, but mediocre for vegetarian choices (my veg lasagne was horrible, sent it back but no apology). Owner is great and really helpful.
However, pub seems to be staffed by local sixth formers/students at the weekend who don't seem to have a clue about customer service.
All in all - great site/location but could do with a little tweaking to make excellent.

We have just returned from a lovely 4 night break here. We are a 3 generation family and loved the site. The Tunnel House Inn provided lovely food when we didn't want to cook including a delicious Sunday lunch. There were functions - people enjoying themselves celebrating with friends and family - NOT yobs causing mayhem! It is amazing value for money for a family holiday in such a lovely location.
There are lovely walks from the site and there were quite a few families with children for our boys to play with. Being able to have a campfire which we sat round each evening just made the visit even more perfect finishing the day with a glass of wine and conversation under the starts. We will definitely return I hope in the not too distant future.

What a find. Went bank holiday with children 6, 7, 16 and two dogs. Despite the weather not being great we had a fantastic time. The facilities were fine for the size of the site.
Pub was fantastic food was always fab, slight wait when busy but didn't cause us any problems.
Only problem I found was the ground was slightly rocky and had difficulties pegging tent down but we did pitch it is a silly place really!
It was a local college summer ball near by and they came down after an all nighter they didn't cause any problem what so ever and there were parties in the barn and once again no problems were caused. The children weren't bothered by the music or the trains going past able to sleep with no problem.
The animals and the play area kept the children amused for hours and the local canal walks were fantastic.
I was a little hesitant to put the review on as I don't want it to be fully booked next time we want to go!
