Easy access to the city center.

Unlike some other sites we used on this trip a good ratio of WC / Showers to visitors.

Shower tokens Grrr! really should be included in the pitch cost.

Please note this site has been renamed Camperpark Amsterdam - it was previously known as Gaasper Camping.

Location was excellent, beside a large public park for walks, cycle rides and a beach, and with easy access to Amsterdam city centre via the nearby Metro station.

Facilities blocks are clean and well organised but require tokens for all hot water, even including washing up.

Pitches are surrounded by hedges but separation is not complete as units are back to back and 6 metre separation is not applied.

There are often queues for the motorhome service point.

The shop has a reasonable range of supplies including fresh baking.

Our main issue was the chaotic arrangement at the entrance leading to congestion and frustration.

Unbelievably, new arrivals are held at the only incoming lane while registering, obstructing all other entrants, and a card has to be used to leave as well as enter.

The entrance is in serious need of a full redesign to allow flows in and out.

We are staying at Gaasper camping, it’s within a large park in Amsterdam on the edge of the city. It’s a 5 min walk to tube and 15 min ride into town.

The site is mix of campers, caravans and fixed pitches for people who keep caravan there. It’s nice size, 2 good toilet blocks, restaurant bar and shop.

The only negative is they save the pitches with water (push button) for caravans so fill up before you head to your pitch. There is 2 water hoses and waste drop point on the right just as you go into site past reception shop and restaurant.

Also note no shops near at all and only very basic stuff in shop.

At moment restaurant only serving 3 options - but in summer you can get full menu and takeaway pizzas. Staff very helpful specially restaurant guy.

There is a play area and space for kids to play and it’s next to a planetarium

What an excellent site. Very expensive but worth the money. 2 mins walk to the tram stop and 10 minutes on it to the centre of Amsterdam.

Staff very friendly, pitches very clean and spacious - idyllic site. Quiet at night.

Only 2 downsides for us, supermarket on site was ok for fresh bread, but no good for anything else - no stock of anything. The only other thing was that dogs not allowed in the bar, so not good if it's raining.

Once you get into this site it is lovely, however you have to park outside in very limited space, on a curved approach road, and once checked in a warden will let you in and escort you to your pitch. On the day we left there was chaos with 3 vans all parked up trying to get in so you had to go up the pavement and have a few attempts at the corner to get out! (They let people in before the official leaving time. )

All the staff were very friendly with excellent English. We were asked if we wanted to use Satellite, and when we said yes were taken to a lovely field next to the play area, but had to use a very long EHU lead which was left running across the field where everyone walks. A bit odd, but there were a few of these so you just kept an eye out. Other pitches around the edges had the EHU close by with leads running behind vans.

The site was extremely well kept. Shop only open in the morning but there is a smaller emergency shop in the bar/restaurant entrance.

Toilets were clean, no soap but paper provided. Showers also clean & tidy and operated by token at 80cents each. We had a token fail which reception just replaced - but inconvenient to have to get dressed again to claim it. Maybe buy a few spare as they will them back if not used.

Easy 5min walk to the Metro and the tickets bought from reception work like Oyster cards on Metro, bus & Trams. Very good value. Takes about 15m on the Metro to the Central Station and reception provide you with maps and comprehensive instructions.

Considering how close the site is to a main road, it is very quiet, and you also have the woods/park next door to explore - although we spent all our time in the City.

Perfect site for visiting Amsterdam.

This is the second time we used this site because it is easy to find from the Autobahns and has good transport links to Amsterdam.

The staff in reception made us very welcome and explained everything we needed to know about the site and the transport links into the city.

We pre booked a pitch via the internet this time taking a print out from there reply. It made booking in a lot faster.

One of the site staff guided us to our pitch. We were on hard standing enclosed by high hedges making it very private.

The toilet and shower block was not far away. As you per usual from the Dutch the facilities were clean and tidy. The tokens for the showers provided enough time to have a relaxing shower.

The motorhome service point is a proper drive over drain with fresh water taps alongside.

The small supermarket had limited opening times being low season but was quite well stocked. We eat at the café on the first night. Good choice of food and drinks at a reasonable price.

We only used the site as a base for visiting the city so we didn't look around the local area.

The only two slight down sides are nothing to do with the site. The walk to the station is through a local car park. Again this time there was rubbish around the bins, mostly bags split and spread around the car park. I am very surprised the Dutch leave this, very unlike them.

The other thing is regarding the approach roads. There are a lot of road works in the area so you need to be careful. I nearly got one of the turnings wrong, the cyclists just went round me.

We have stayed here twice now once in June and again in October this year. The facilities are good and there is a shop, bar and restaurant on site. Everything was open every day in June but in October the shop was only open for 3 hours in the morning and the bar/cafe only on weekends.

The showers are good but are 80c for a token which lasts 5 mins.

The situation of the campsite is easy to find right next to the motorway but is not noisy and is on the edge of gaasparpark which has great walks, a lake with a beach and designated 'dog' areas where they can run free. The metro is 5 mins walk and takes you right into the centre. You can either get off at waterlooplein which is handy for rembrandtsplein area or go on further and alight near the red light district or central station. You can also interchange and go anywhere else in the city.

There is a Albert hein supermarket about 10 mins walk up the road for supplies.

Free wifi but can be a poor signal which had gotten considerably worse on our second visit.

A good place for visiting Amsterdam

A great site if you want to be close to Amsterdam and the surrounding area, only a 5 minute walk to metro then 15 minutes into centre. Right by a motorway for easy access and getaway( no noise). Set beside a lake and park it was quiet, but occasional aircraft going into Schipol airport. A tight site ideally geared for motor homes and there were many movements from European vans. The downside was no comfort pitches and you had to pay for showers and even hot water

Can thoroughly recommend this site if you are planning a visit to Amsterdam.

Ideally located by the Metro which runs every 10 mins to Central station and is only a 5 min walk from the site.

All staff are friendly and help you in whatever you are looking for.

There is a small resteraunt which serves good meals and the young lady running it is extremely professional.

Our pitch was grass which was in good condition and also very spacious.

Toilet blocks were clean and nice hot water in the showers.

Also the site backs onto a large wooded park with a lake, ideal for a nice leisurely walk.

Would not hesitate to use this site if we ever return to Ansterdam
