We visited Amsterdam for a week late August 2014 and choose this site as it was a short walk from the metro.
The site is large and caters for all, backpackers in tents to A Class motorhomes. Arrival up to 21. 00 is permitted.
Our grassed pitch was large. We had quite a lot of rain during the early part of our stay. Our pitch, and more or less the whole site, struggled to cope. Hard standing pitches were paved and coped much better.
The toilet blocks were clean and tidy. They were cleaned several times a day. Showers, hot water for washing up and washing machines / dryers all used prepaid tokens.
The campsite staff were excellent. All spoke English and were only too keen to help. They sold travelcard's for the Metro/Tram and tickets for most attractions including the Van Gogh which placed you in a priority queue (not the 2 or 3 hour queue).
Amsterdam Central Station is 30 minutes away by Metro and there is a train ever 10 minutes.
The site had a small supermarket and there is an Aldi 3/4km away.
There is a small children's play area and facilities for children are limited. However the site is next to Gaasperplas, a large park with a lake where there are many more things to do to entertain children.
We choose the site for location not children's facilities and were pleased with what we found.

Very clean well kept campsite, hot showers, big pitches, quiet at night. Possibly the best site to stay if you would like to visit Amsterdam, boat trips to see the canals, lots of bars etc. Shop on site with bar. Tents have a wonderful place away from the caravans and staff are very helpful. The metro is a very short walk and takes you into the centre. We had a motorhome and trailer and had a pitch big enough to relax. Security was first class,

We stayed here first in 2005 and returned in 2007, essentially a good park with easy access on train to central Amsterdam. About 20 mins on the train, cheap fares.
Nice facilities with lots of wide open pitches, and a good communal, international friendly feel. Nice facilities and pretty easy to find despite horrendous roadworks almost everywhere! Guess this is where sat nat would be useful
Only stayed 2 nights but would be ok for longer stays.
Would definitely use again for visiting Amsterdam.

Just to up-date my previous review. They now take bookings for two or more nights (previously it was only for a week or more). Details of this and current prices on their website.
This is still a recommended site for visiting Amsterdam, with access easy and straightforward when towing in, and daily travel into the city by Metro much the best way to go.

There are several other campsites around Amsterdam - we chose this one because it's outside the direct airport flight path and it's close enough to walk 5 minutes to the Metro for journeys into the city.
It's a big city camp site - the sort they do well in continental Europe - purpose built in parkland, well equipped, efficiently run, and very international. And as you'd expect in Holland all very neat and tidy, with quite strict rules and regulations - for instance caravans have to be man handled on to pitches (but help available), and cars parked separately (which is common in Holland).
Altogether a very well run site with a full range of facilities. You need to phone ahead and arrive early for short stays as they only take bookings for 7 nights or more.
Everyone should visit Amsterdam - it has attractions for all ages- museums, art galleries, palaces, restaurants, brown cafes, adult attractions, and my own favourite : the Heineken brewery tour ! A great city.
