Please note this site closed down, and is now under new management. It has been refurbished and improved and is now known as Meadow Falls - see the new listing here

Stunning area, close to Ingleton and the amazing walk round the Falls. Amazing food at the local pub just 5 minutes walk and the fabulous ladies at the farm shop who wrapped our ice cream to keep it from melting on our walk back in the heat, was wonderful service.

Unfortunately from the previous comments the situation has not changed at the site.

The extra we had to spend on the electricity meter made this weekend an expensive stay.

The dog poo on the field was alarming and we did go round clearing it up around us, so if you have small kids be careful. The long grass makes poo spotting an issue.

Toilets were not opened up, even after we had paid and closed before we had left.
Management response: Please note that there is a new site that is barely 1/2 mile from this site which charges £17:00p per night for caravans / motorhomes and they do not have toilet facilities. Therefore the £12:00p per night we charge is pretty reasonable in comparison.

As far as the electric is concerned that is an added extra, so anyone coming onto this site has the option of having hook up points or not

Clients that come onto the site at Docklands are told that the hook up points are extra and that they are card operated along with the price of each card. They are also told that depending on how they are used that it is estimated that these cards will last approximately 2 days making it approximately £2:50p per night for electric, where most sites charge £3:00p per night for hook up points.

The view's from this site are stunning. However, the owner appeared to lack knowledge of his own prices to the extent that we had to tell him how much we should pay. Electric hook ups were limited for caravans or motor homes but only because it was quiet were we able to use one. The field is large and reasonably level but the grass being and least 12ins high needed to be cut. This made walking to the toilet block unpleasant in the British morning or evening when the grass was wet. The outside tap is fierce which makes filling a water container a very wet affair ( although a relief on what turned out to be a very hot weekend). Being push control taps there is no way to control the flow. The toilet block although well equipped lacked cleanliness and the rubbish bin was an asda carrier bag just hanging. There are no external bins anywhere on the grounds either. There is a washing machine and a tumble dryer. The owner allowed his 2dogs to roam freely and although they didn't bother us they were allowed to foul the site with the owner having no intention of cleaning it up.

This site possibly ok for an overnight stay but I wouldn't bother any longer. Plus expensive for what you get.

The site is in a superb location with stunning views over the dales.

The site is quite expensive when you account for the shower cards and the hook up so worked out close to £30 per night for a tourer and awning. To say it was Jubilee weekend the grass was not cut and was almost 12inches long. The level of the grass next to the hardstanding was about 18 inches higher than the hardstanding which made the awning difficult to erect properly.

The owner of the site seemed more concerned with every add on you could think of ie visitor charges rather than giving the level of customer service that would encourage people to return to the site.

The ability to leave rubbish should be a given, surely if nearly every review comments on this the owner should rectify the issue! We did take our rubbish away but had to leave it in a fuel station on the route home. If the price was all inclusive, the grass was cut and the standings were level I would consider returning, as things are I will not be going back.

Great location, close to Ingleton and with stunning views. Hardstanding is good and lots of space for tents. However.

Grass uncut.

Only campsite I've ever been to in 25 years where they refuse to accept any rubbish.

Lots of notices saying what you can't do.

No security.

Water pressure is severe and 'out of the owner's control' - external water taps (drinking water and Elsan point) are 'push' operated so the flow can't be controlled and they don't have hoses.

Owner allowed his dogs to foul the grass area immediately next to our caravan and in the field for tents - I pointed this out to him - he refused to clean it up

The EHU's are operated using £5 'credit cards' - I accept we have a modern caravan, heat all our own water, use a fridge TV etc but consuming £25 of electricity in 3 days, on top of the 'standard' fees was unexpected - be prepared!

A party of campers in tents rebelled and left all their rubbish, neatly piled in bin bags against the side of the facilities building, some others dumped theirs in bags behind the building. We took ours to the recycling centre in the main car park in Ingleton.
Management response: If the client in question had read through the written notices as mentioned in their review they would have noted the reason(s) for the delay in the points raised. There is a write up posted on the on site notice board explaining what has gone on in the past history and what the site has been allowed to undertake in respect of planning approval which has recently been granted by the local authority via an appeal.

Just had a great 2 night stay at Docklands as part of a group fo 6.

Firstly the site location is good, a 10 minute walk from Ingleton village and far enough away from the main road to not hear noise from traffic. The field is of a good size with gentle slope and contains a newly built structure with shower/toilet areas and washing area. There area couple of cold water taps at either end of the site and 5 electric hookup points for caravans/mobile homes.

Total price was £96;

- £5 a person per night (6 people)

- £6 a car per night (2 cars)

- £2 for a shower card (gives two instances of a hot 5 minute shower)

Worked out for us to be £8 per night. Very reasonable!

The owner was very friendly and pleasant towards us, coming over to have a couple of long chats. He discussed the need for taking our rubbish with us which we didn't see as a problem. From what the owner mentioned it seemed the local council aren't very willing to help the campsite with rubbish removal. There are large recycling bins in Ingleton village which we made use of at the end of our stay. The owner also didn't have a problem with us having a gazebo, disposable BBQ's and a firepit going (so long as they were off the ground). When we arrived there was nobody around so we picked a spot and pitched up the tents, again the owner didn't have a problem with this. He turned up a short while later and unlocked the toilet block for us. During the 2 nights we only saw 2 other tents and a mobile home, so it seems to be a fairly quiet site.

With regards to CCTV, I myself only noticed one camera which points to the entrance of the field. There are no cameras within the Male toilet/shower area.

I can't really understand the negative reviews. We got exactly what we expected. A decent field to camp in at a very good price. Would happily go back.

Although we had a great weekend when we stayed here - this had nothing to do with the campsite.

We paid approx £47 for 2 nights which was for 2 adults, 2 kids, caravan, car & £5 electric card. Yes you have to pay for your car. This might as well be in with the nightly charge as unless you are in a motorhome then you are going to have a car! Most people in our group did not manage to make the electric card last 2 nights so was rather expensive too & this was not through excessive use. It was also £2 to have a shower & you had to buy a card from the owner to use them so would have to wait for him to show up. I personally would not have wanted to shower there anyway due to a camera been very close to the ladies only shower cubicle! There were many camera's within the washroom areas but none actually in the toilet cubicles or that could see in - these still made me feel uncomfortable. The washrooms also have a bolt on the outside so you can be locked in - which I was, luckily I had my mobile on me & had to phone one of our party to come & let me out!

There are notices up on the cabin wall stating that you cant leave rubbish either & you are supposed to take it home with you.

The owner turned up from time to time with 2 dogs who were loose & so whilst he was doing whatever. The dogs were fouling in the field where people were camping !

On the plus side. The view is amazing, its very close for those who wish to walk the 3 Peaks or the Waterfall walk. There is a pub literally round the corner.

We have just returned from 2 nights at this site and I can say this is the most expensive campsite we have ever stayed at and its just a grass field

Adults £5 each web site says £4. Children £2. 50 web site says £2 between 5 & 15. Cars £6 web site says £5 So we were expecting to pay £18 a night for 2 adults and 2 children and it turned in to £23. 50 as my 15 year old was classed as a adult

Then if you wanted a shower it was £2 for 10 mins & ehu was £5 for a card that didn't even last the night with small outwell tent heater plugged in.

The toilets look like they are locked all the time so you have to lift the padlock up to undo the bolt then if you are not careful if someone bolts the door you cannot get out

The owner then has cctv cameras inside the toilet block pointing towards the toilets and showers. When we questioned him about this he said people keep stealing from him so he has to keep watch

We arrived Friday night at about 3pm and he didn't come and unlock the toilets until after 6pm. Then on Sunday he came back at 11. 30am and locked them while we were packing up without telling us so we couldn't go again before we left the sign says you have to depart at 12pm

Then to crown it all you have to take all your rubbish home with you as the council will not collect it

The position of the site is fantastic near to Ingleton village and a fantastic pub just around the corner

Owners comments: Prices referred to are for 2010 NOT 2011 they are given prices for 2011 before entering site, EHU's, these are provided and are told before they are purchased that the length of time that these will last for will depend on how they are used, the management estimates them to last for 2 days.

Toilets are locked when the site is not in use due to the amount of pilfering and vandalism that this site has encountered to a value in excess of £10,000:00 hence the reason for the C.C.T.V. that is on display, it would be of interest to note if the client in question woulod be prepared to stand this kind of loss if the boot was on the other foot.

With regards to the toilets being locked on arrival, there was no contact made by client in question, if they had made contact then the toilets would have been opened up and bearing in mind that at that point in time the client in question had not paid site fees, our practice is to take payment on arrival, the locks on the toilets would make no difference as the doors would be liable to be bolted regardless of the padlocks being on or off the door.

With regards to disposal of rubbish, there are notices on the onsite notice board stating that this site can no longer take onboard rubbish due to the local authority clamping down on the disposal of rubbish that is left on this site by site users, if the site users wish to leave rubbish then the management of this site will regretfully have to put up its prices to compensate for the disposal of rubbish at a recognised refuse tip which is quite a distance from this site.

There are also notices on the onsite notice board stating that clients are to be clear of the site by mid day at the latest, most reasonable people have left the site by 10:30am 11 am at the latest.

Hope that this clarifies the points that has been raised by the client in question, many thanks for reading through the above

The good thing about this site - it's just up the road from Ingleton. The not so good things - well, the website's prices are out of date with lovely pictures of the surrounding area rather than the slightly overgrown and bumpy field (mind the sheep/dog poo!).

The owner kept turning up in his large van with his 2 dogs at various times for no apparent reason. The toilet block is also rather strange - looks nice on the outside but not sure if the inside is complete - the breeze blocks stop well below the ceiling so it is a bit embarrassing if there is someone of the opposite sex next door!

Can't comment on the showers as the gas had run out the day before. In conclusion - if you want a lot of space and don't mind being locked out of the loos now and then - it will do for a night or two!

What a shock! We arrived expecting a campsite and what it is really is a field with a wooden shed housing toilets and showers. The touring pitches were knee high in grass and the driveway obscured by weeds. A real pity as there is clearly some potential here.

There was no one staying on site and on one to meet us, in fact the site was as good as locked up. The site gate was broken, so left open and there are no visible road side signs, so it wasn't until we called that we knew what we were looking for.

When the owner eventually turned up he seemed surprised to see us, despite having our deposit letter with him. As no one else was staying on site, if we were to be away all day walking, then we may as well be parked in a layby. Besides a few cameras there is zero security

The wooden shed displays signs telling visitors they must take their rubbish away with them; there is no grey water drop facility and as far as we could tell no facility to empty toilet cassettes either.

We needed to fill our water tank, but the only taps are the push and hold type that do not have a hose fitting. This is where Mr Pitts stated 'I can't help you' - the final straw! We left without staying and found the nearby Marton Arms very accommodating. OK, so it's the car park behind the pub, but it cost nothing; we were welcomed and nothing was too much trouble.
