The site is situated in lovely rolling green cliff tops on the jurassic coast. As it is on a slope, most areas have at least some view of the sea. The views from the roof top terrace at the upstairs bar are fantastic - straight out onto the cliffs & sea. Small shingle private beach - good for rock pools. Good children's outdoor play area, plus field for ball games, kit flying etc. Swimming pool area great - surrounding area kept at a high temperature so even if you don't swim, you can relax in comfort whilst the rest of the family do. Toddler pool plus swimming pool ideal for small children - as we were there low season we were the only ones in the pool, so not sure what like in high season. Shop sells most things you need, plus takeaway & cafe. Amusements & small bowling alley for the bad weather. Plenty to do in surrounding area - Seaton trams worth a trip, lots of nice walks in surrounding countryside. Fish & Chips at Budleigh Salterton a must. 2nd time we have visited & we will be back next year.

We stayed here as part of a Minis Rugby Club tour in one of the statics. It was the second time that we had come to Ladram Bay on tour, and yet again we had a great time. The static vans are spot on. The camp site on the whole is good, with some great views across the bay. Swimming Pool, Club house and shop are all adequate and the staff were very helpful.

We arrived very late (about 11pm) on this site and we had to pitch in the car park. Stayed in the horseshoe on T34 which is at the top of a very steep hill, however it had fantastic views. The toilet and showers blocks were clean and the water pressure was good, if I had to grumble I would say that the water was a little too hot. The toilets near the shop/cafe were old and in need of renovation. The swimming pool was reasonably priced, less than £5 for a family swim. Non swimmers can sit at the side of the pool or sunbathe on the loungers whilst still being able to see the pool. The pool was not deep and my 6 year old non-swimming nephew was able to jump in and out without drowning. It is a 10 minute downhill walk into the village, there is a mill serving cream teas and the local pub is cheap with good food. The site pub/club reminds me of Butlins, it is much nicer upstairs with a balcony overlooking the sea. It is expensive though and the cafe / takeaway were more reasonably priced. There is little or no phone reception and I would not take anyone in a wheelchair as the campsite is on a slope. We enjoyed our time here and would go again.

We visited the site for a week-end with 150 other people from our junior football club. Access was a little tricky for caravans as it was steep and terraced. Toilets and showers were clean and hot, but would not be enough in peak season. Pool excellent for families and club was good but expensive. Good access to the beach. Children very well catered for, having good play areas and green areas to play on.

August 2005 I found this website a few weeks after I'd booked a week at Ladram Bay and having read some of the reviews it was with some trepidation that I drove West with wife kids and trailer in tow.
In fact, we had a brilliant week. Yes, the older toilet blocks need a bit of TLC and they all suffer from the usual moronic behavior displayed by some campers. (Toilet rolls in the loos along with skid marks and floaters - do they leave their toilets like that at home?)But in general, the toilet blocks were kept reasonably clean given the throughput.
We were on an electric pitch (T58) which gave us a great view of the bay although we had to get used to sleeping at an angle. You would think that having spent so much money to tier the hillside they would at least get the pitch level. Subsidence maybe?
Yes it was expensive and yes they do cram them in.
The entertainment in the evening is generally good and whilst you could accuse it and the day time activities of being somewhat 'Butlin-esque', you don't have to take part.
All in all we had a good time and will probably go back next year. RB

June 2005 I have camped with my young family at Ladram Bay many times over the past fifteen years. We always enjoy our stay at Ladram Bay, and will return.
The site is excellent, and the sea view is probably the best I have encountered at any camp site I have used.
The price these days is sadly extremely high. The older toilet and shower facilities really do not merit such a premium price, it's a big site and they need cleaning more often. You can certainly get much, much better facilities for a lot less.
However the new facilities, built in the last year or so looked a great deal better.

August 2005 We have just returned from a weeks camping at this site. Facilities overall were very good. The newly built club house and restaurants were great. Food was of a good standard. Kids club for the children of an evening was well organised.
The actual pitches were fairly flat although we have been to better. They are tiered. Pitches were not overly generous in size. A site for families who do not want a very very quiet holiday.!
The toilet and shower blocks were also newly refurbished and were of a very good standard. Cleaned 2/3 times a day whilst we were there.
Locations was great, site has its own bay/beach and locally in reach of Sidmouth and Beer and Lyme Regis.

June 2004 Ladram Bay has excellent facilities and the camping ground offers a very rare sea view.
Compared to other sites it is a little pricey and the toilet/washing blocks need some work. Having said that, we have visited many, many times.
The site's own pebble beach is excellent.
A very good site.

August 2003 1st time in the South West but what a holiday, me husband and 3 kids had the best holiday ever, facilities were great hardly saw the kids, so much to do on site. We came here as we were visiting friends in Budleigh and they showed us this site so we pitched tent here, we didn't even have to book beforehand and that was after a 8 hr drive from Sunderland. We went all over while we were here, you must go to Beer and Branscombe and the caves in Beer, Sidcombe, Exmouth, Dawlish and Lime Regis were all in driving distance, even managed to visit the donkey sanctuary. The beach was great and the Jurassic cliffs were a sight to see. It was also the hottest week ever recorded too. Would like to come back to, well worth a visit with kids.

01.05.04 First went to Ladram camping with my folks in about 1975 as a 9 year old and loved it. I now go each May day bank holiday weekend and sometimes over the summer with my family and still love it. The caravans are very high quality and the tent area has good facilities. The site itself caters very well for kids and the indoor pool, well stocked shop and clubhouse are all very well run. The beach is pebbley and tricky to walk on, but safe for swimming and quite sheltered - also very close. Recommended.
