Aug 2002 A beautiful site surrounded by wildlife. Facilities were excellent and well centred for most of the lakes. Certainly would recommend this site.

July2003 The site is very peacful, some lovely walks around the area, plenty of wildlife to see, plenty of places to excersise the dog and lovely scenery. On the minus side the loos and showers were not the best we have seen, they are as you may expect in a damp foresty enviroment. The staff at the site we found did not seem very helpful or knowledgable when we asked about places in the area. It is advertised that there are pubs and eating places within walking distance, there seemed to be one pub which we were told was only a la carté and was over a mile away along some narrow lanes that were not suitable for walking down after dark. To sum up it was a site that would suit people who are active, like to walk or cycle, but I would imagine people with children would want somewhere with more going on.

March 2002 An excellent site for winter caravaning and summer too, all hard standing in beautifull woodland with clearings and as such even on the windiest day you don't get a breath. Warm toilet/shower blocks too with warm laundry's building to each shower block, which is very convenient to hang out towels after showering.

June 2001 A well established, well run caravan park. Caters for static caravans, tourers and I believe there is a place for tents. There are a number of very clean toilet blocks, and a shop. The setting is 'contoured', but not steep in any way (undulating?). There are quite a few trees, but grassy areas as well. A fairly quiet site, which is well located near Ambleside. There are a number of walks possible from the site, some of them in the sites own woodland.
