Visited on 11th June, a plesent, quiet and very peaceful site. Lucky enough to see two Deer when walkin along Bog Lane. Woodland walks wonderful.
The toilets and showers are immaculate, washing up facilities also very clean, and the site as a whole very clean and tidy. Plenty for kids to do and the new kids play park is a dream for younger kids.
The well stocked shop became very handy if something is left at home.
The staff that we met, were very friendly and helpful in our situation, as we had no electrics, by lending us extension leads. (our main trip switch box in the caravan burnt out) thanks to Clair, Paul, Alan, Matt, Lesley and others for all their help in getting us though our holiday break.
We will definitely be returning.

Without a doubt, the best site so far on our UK tour. We have absolutely nothing negative to report.
All staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient.
A pitch-change (our decision, nothing wrong with our first location) was quick and easy.
Facilities all excellent, with a well-stocked shop, book/DVD exchange, huge laundry, fresh croissants at the weekend, quality pizza van visits on Fridays, and a special event laid-on for the coronation.
Fantastic play equipment for children, including all-weather 5-a-side pitch, plus large, separate recreation area.
Endless footpaths and very quiet road walks through the site, the forest and to Ambleside (superb little town).
Easy quiet road walk (1. 2 miles) to the 'Drunken Duck' pub / restaurant / brewery (result !), with fantastic views from outdoor tables.
Overall, these are standards that every site should aspire to - we'll be back.

Quite an expansive site, set among woodlands with a reasonably long private driveway leading to it from the ‘main’ road. A nice touch was the ANPR camera which displayed our registration number on a digital welcome board as we drove up it.
The site is mainly residential static caravans with 2 or 3 touring areas, all with gravel pitches. We arrived during Jubilee weekend and the site put on its own street party which was very well attended.
As the weekend ended, the tourers left and we practically had the whole touring area to ourselves.
The toilets were immaculate with underfloor heating, a dishwashing area, chemical toilet disposal and a motorhome service point. Wifi was free for 24 hours, then £15.
There are a lot of nice walks from the site and we walked into Ambleside a couple of times, about 3 miles or so, where there are lots of nice pubs, shops and restaurant. Ambleside has THREE cinemas, 2 of which are attached to vegetarian restaurants to you can have a meal and watch a movie or vice versa.
The site has a well stocked on site shop and the staff we spoke to were all friendly and appeared happy to be there. One lady we spoke to said she’d been there for 10 years and felt it wasn’t like work for her, she enjoyed it so much, a glowing endorsement.
Overall a very nice site with excellent facilities and very friendly staff.

Very friendly staff.
Extremely good, clean facilities - warm and nicely tiled, more like you'd expect in a hotel!
Well stocked shop.
Plenty of hot water for showers.
Dog friendly.
Nearest pub is about a mile away. Nice site, mainly statics but good spaces for tourers.

Big site but when we found our pitch we were tucked away surrounded by trees so you really couldn’t tell.
Lovely short walks from/on site as well as walks to Windermere, Ambleside and Wray castle.
Lovely, helpful wardens in their golf buggies. Told us we’d struggle to screw the dogs into the ground anywhere which saved us trying a bunch of times.
Great Covid policy in place with sanitiser given to all guests.

Lovely extensive site, beautifully laid out in woods. There are plenty of statics here, but as the site is so spacious and wooded it does not feel large or overcrowded.
The main toilet/shower block (there are at least 2 others) is really 5*, - warm, clean and very roomy. The small shop was still working during Covid, but annoyingly not the drying room. Other precautions seemed sensible.
The advertised wifi didn't seem to work. A 20 minute walk down a quiet lane leads to Skelwith Bridge where there's a pub/café.
I agree with a previous reviewer, there's no real need to book the rather expensive premium pitches, a standard one (still not cheap) would have done for us.
There's a nice looking playground too.

Well this stay will always be remembered as the Covid stay. The drive up was the usual ~M6 and then Bowness route for the folks, I drove up from Burnley/Neson over towards Yorkshire and across. I do love leaving work on a Friday and having 1. 5 hours to myself.
The magnitude of the lockdown became apparent and the ideal of a pint in Stickle Barn after climbing Bowfell and Crinckle Craggs became a no go. The climb went ahead, as did an early Sunday visit to FellFoot, but then it became clear that we would be returning home Monday morning and wouldn't see this wonderful place in a while.

Skelwith Fold Caravan Park in Ambleside, Lake District
Lovely clean site in beautiful surroundings. Warm welcome from friendly staff throughout. Good toilet, shower, washing up and launderette facilities, it even had a shop !
Bus stop into Ambleside or Coniston from edge of site, only disadvantage was that was at the bottom of a big hill ! Great site for walkers and dog friendly Good value Holiday ! :)
