Lovely well run & clean site with friendly & helpful owners. We had a fabulous spot with a gorgeous view over the fells & ample room all around us. Wonder of wonders we even had sunshine! The toilet blocks were spotless every day. We would highly recommend this site, although it did start to get busier & noisier towards the end of our week, so choose your pitch carefully!

We have just returned from 3 nights at the site, 2 adults and 3 children (aged 14,12 and 4). We thought the site was fantastic (helped by the gorgeous weather), amazing views, fantastic location and great value for money.
The toilets, showers, laundry and washing up area are spotless, there are 2 showers each for men and women but we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes, the kids park is great for keeping them entertained.
2 pubs in the village (2 minutes walk) which also serve food. Nearest shop is in Gosforth 4 miles away and sells pretty much all you need, if you need gas then there's a hardware shop at Seascales about 6-7 mles from the site.
Wasdale lake is a fabulous 2 mile walk (each way) with Scarfel Pike a little further. Far too many amazing footpaths and walks to mention.
The owners are really helpful and friendly and our littlest daughter loved the sheep.
This is the best site we have stayed at so far and we will definitely be visiting again soon and would not hesitate to recommend it to others. 10/10.

Great location and woke up every morning to see the top of mountains covered in mist. Site was very clean. Showers were hot. Across the road approx 200yds was the Screes Inn with it's own micro brewery, serving wonderful beer. We went to Ravensglass and went on the Ll'alratty railway up to Dalgarth which is the end of the line. Even though the day was wet my partner and I had a great time visiting the best kept secret in Boot - The Watermill and the gushing waterfall behind. Full of old curiosities and cob webs. On our way out Sidney 'the cat' even put in an appearance. We finished off the day by having a lovely meal in the Ravenglass Hotel.
If you are a townie, like me, you do need to take all provisions with you as there are no local shops nearby. However, the organic farmshop approx 3 miles away is well stocked. Bought nice lamb chops here which went down well on the Sunday night. I would definitely recommend this site and plan to come back in the future.

Opted for this site after good reviews on here and facilities on offer, worth the drive from Preston, smaller than I expected but nice quiet site in great location. Pitched opposite play area, with shelter from small trees a nice touch, so always able to keep an eye on the little one. He made friends with some lovely kids so result there. Washing up facilities great, permanent hot water with free wash up liquid. Site has freezer and drinks machine and washing machines! Showers hot and block tiled so no cold floors! toilets always clean and smelling nice. Pitches nice and flat with picnic benches scattered around for family meals. Nice woodland walk nearby and plenty of nice areas to pitch tent (has a 'quiet' area too) Will return definitely as very reasonable prices and great site for kids as no idiots/chavs/lager louts. Just nice families. 10/10.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Church Stile and will definitely be going back. This site has good amenities, large pitches, hot showers, clean toilets. Mrs Knight in particular was pleasant and helpful. The surrounding area is beautiful, even in the rain and the 2 pubs locally, serve good food and are dog friendly. We have been to plenty of sites in the past that ram as many tents as they can possibly get on their land but this site was different. Although we were met with a 'FULL' sign, there was still a comfortable space in between pitches. This site will stay on our list of favourites! Thankyou for a great stay.

Spent 3 nights at this site. It is in gorgeous location with great views. It was 25.00 per night with EHU. There are 2 pubs within a couple minutes walking distance which were nice, but didn't eat there so cant comment on food.
The children's playground was good and the facilities nice, clean and warm and never seemed busy (about 8 toilets and sinks and 2 showers in womens).
There was laundry room with hot drinks machine. A code had to be entered before you could enter the facilities.
4 washing up sinks were outside with hot water and free washing up liquid.
The woodland walk was a nice walk around the outskirts of the site with some great views.
Wastwater lake was well worth the visit as the scenery was stunning.
The only downside was that the drive to get there was long but would recommend especially for walkers.

I visited Church Stile Farm with my wife and 2 Children at the end of May 2009 and what a lovely little site (helped by perfect weather)!
The views, as previously mentioned are excellent.
There is a little park for the kids to play on and a couple of nice little pubs approximately 100 metres from the sites entrance but when you're in the site you can't tell they're there!
The facilities are very good and very clean!
The only down side I can think of if I had to was that the lady in the site office cannot take bookings to save her life and once you are there isnt very helpful!
All in all this is a brilliant little site in a fantastic location

Lucky to get into this site over bank holiday (late cancellation). Peaceful site surrounded by wonderful scenery. 5 min walk into the village with two good pubs (food and beer both great). Nice woodland walk from the top of the site.
Only 2 showers each for men/women, but didn't seem to be a problem.
Will definitely return.

We visited this site at easter for a week. The location of this site couldn't be much better, the views in this area are out of this world. But please be aware most people using a sat nav to get to this campsite may be sent over hardknott pass, which is a lovely drive, but is narrow and has plenty of traffic.
The site is very well organised and there is plenty of room between tents. Theirs a nice little play area, a ball area, and a wood where the kids can play , all in eye shot. The toilet block is very clean and the showers are probably the best I've seen on a campsite. There is also plenty of pot washing facilities, free freeze for ice blocks, washing machine and a vending machine if required.
Their is two pubs in very close walking distance from the site and a drive down the valley to wasdale head pub is a must.
This campsite is a bit of a trek to get to, a bit out of the way, but its a must to visit.

Just returned from a 4 day stay. Fabulous! When we eventually arrived (very out in the sticks!) we were welcomed by the owner who said we could pretty much choose our own pitch. Although the sign on the gate said 'full' we were still spoilt for choice as to where to pitch our very large tent.
The ground was dry and flat. We were a party of 2 adults and 3 children aged 5-11. There was a lovely little park and a great woodland for them to explore, all in eye sight of our tent. The toilets were always clean and the free showers big and no wait. The washing up facilities were close enough and always available even though this was easter weekend.
The walk down to wastwater lake is well worth it. Possibly one of the most breathtaking lakes around.
We were so lucky with the weather but it was freezing at night because you are right down in the valley so forget a reception on you phone! The drive was the only down side for us as the kids got very fed up but would definitely go back.
