Have been coming to this site for the past 15/20 years, at various points throughout the year. Have to say I'm very disappointed with the site in recent years, it seems to have become a little less tent-friendly, making the tent pitches area smaller and smaller to make room for more statics. They get booked up very quickly too, maybe just because less tent space? But their answer to this is an 'overflow' field for tents whereby we've had to flatten 3 foot of grass in the past before we could pitch! The overflow field also has no facilities at all and you have to walk back onto the main site to use the toilet/shower blocks etc. not really ideal in the dead of night!! Having said that, the shower blocks are clean. The site is well located for the beach and woodland strolls. A good shop and the novelty train for the ride. 3/4 mile to town.

First time campers (just brought a Conway Voyager)so picked this site as we knew the area and had read positive feedback on this site.
The location is beautiful and Wells is a good location from which to explore the north Norfolk coast.
The shower/toilet block (9) allocated to the tent pitches with electric hook up were generally kept clean. They are very tired and in need of more than just a coat of paint. The site wasn't full but got busy towards the end of our stay and consequently there were queues for washing up facilites, showers etc.
On the whole we have enjoyed our first camping expedition and will return to Pinewoods.

When we arrived we were sceptical due to the size of the site. However, we were very pleased with our pitch (The horse paddock), which seperated the static and touring caravans from the tents. the toilets were clean and the shop was well stocked with everything you needed. The beach, dunes and woodlands were all beautiful and the fact that you only had to walk for 5 minutes to get there was even better.
Overall, well worth another visit.

Large site in a good location. Shower and washing facilities clean but a bit tired. Pitces for tents rather crammed in at the far end of the site and no dividing hedges. Better for vans and statics than tents.

This was my wife’s first ever camping experience, we went with two friends and their two children also novice campers, they have visited the site before staying in one of many static caravans. The amenities, toilet and shower blocks, were clean and tidy as was the site, the water for washing and showering was hot and could not be faulted.
Although it was the end of the season there was still plenty to do around the site and nature reserve.
I feel the train to town could have continued to a later time, 5.10pm last one from Wells. However it is a pleasant walk along the sea wall.
We all had a great time and will visit at an earlier time in the year. Thoroughly recommend.
