Site very open plan, hence very windy. Unable to put up awning due to very strong gusts.
Windbreaks are not allowed to be left up overnight…pitch of good size, however ground was very churned up and of sandy composition…
Wash rooms of good quality.
Useful bus service to wells @ £4pp per trip… long dark walk in the elements otherwise!
Would go back, however would request a pitch not in the open plan middle.
Beach was very big, clean and dog friendly to the left of site.

Touring pitches were uncared for, the grass between them 4 feet tall. I'm all for nature but these look scruffy.
Showers are modern, hot and clean but only stay on a few seconds.
Good access to the beach but a long walk to town. There is a bus. Overall all 6/10.
Wouldnt stay again as quite pricy for what you get

Expensive site with excellent facilities.
And superb location, a pleasant walk to Holkham via the lookout, then Coastal hopper bus on to burnham thorpe for a light lunch.
No need for a car and free public transport!.
Well recommended.

Awful, Overpriced and Tatty!
Don't be misled by their Spoonbill Drift touring website claiming 'neatly maintained' pitches, or their claim of encouraging biodiversity by leaving spaces between pitches to grow wild. This really is an excuse for not maintaining the actual pitches at all which are completely unkempt, tatty dappled patches of weeds and large bald patches which flood in rain and mean that you are stepping out of your van onto mud. The whole site is very unattractive and felt soulless.
There is a bollard for water and electricity on each pitch which is good, but there was no attempt to 'service' the pitches between bookings, so take your own cleaners to service your bollard and dog poo bags to pick up after the many dog owners who use the 'wild areas' in the centre and between pitches as an unofficial dog exercise area. The hand sanitiser dispenser at reception was empty.
The site is so large and quite remote from reception and there was a very occasional cursory warden high speed whizz round in a van or buggy.
The rules are extensive, but enforced arbitrarily, no windbreaks to be left out overnight, rotary washing lines to be removed 'immediately' after use, no tents, dogs to be kept on leads and under control.
The reinforced plastic pitches where you have to place your unit, have been positioned to the very edge of one side of the pitch, so that in our case our neighbours awning and car was extremely close to the edge of our van. Continental vans have to pitch the 'wrong' way round because of this, otherwise they are unable to step out of their vans. Some pitches are much larger so it's pot luck whether you have space or not. The van pitches could have been easily laid out as other sites do, at the centre of each pitch to avoid this problem.
We have stayed on many sites, many of which have received awards for their eco credentials and biodiversity. None of them have the tatty appearance of this site. Absolutely not worth the money, there are many other smaller sites in the area which are half the price and double the value of this one. They have the monopoly near the beach, but clearly don't reinvest in the experience of their guests on the Spoonbill Drift site. Encouraging biodiversity is not an excuse for not investing in some landscaping to enhance the aesthetics and condition of pitches on a touring site. The owners would do well to visit other sites for some ideas.
I appreciate that it's late season, but the £37 per night pitch fee didn't reflect the resulting poor state of the site.
Good points, it's close to the beach, so if this is the most important thing to you it is ideal, but it's conversely distant from the town.
We left early and wouldn't go back.

Such a lovely site. Love the way it it serves both the campers and the environment.
The verges etc left for the wildlife. We were treated to see bats owls lizards frogs, so many varieties of butterflies moths and due to the low lighting. The stars.
The modern, clean facilities were a please to use.
The beautiful stroll though the woods down to the stunning beach was a delight.
We will return ☀️☀️☀️

Pinewoods is a lovely site, clean with spacious pitches.
The toilet and shower blocks were scrupulously clean and all staff were friendly and helpful. Pinewoods is a 'dark skies' site, so great for stargazing.
The location is very good, about 3/4 of a mile to Wells harbour along the harbour path and about 1/2 mile walk through the pinewoods to the magnificent beach.
There aren't any pubs or restaurants nearby and those in Wells town are some way beyond the harbour, however French's fish and chip shop is amazing and should not be missed.

Our 2nd time at this site. Nice location looking south towards Wells and the Norfolk “hillsides”, with some lovely walks to / along the coast, and into Wells. Not cheap, but the spacious fully-serviced pitches are great.
This time we chose to use our own facilities, as we have all summer. Disappointed that our only shared facilities experience - the Chemical Toilet disposal point - was pretty dirty and clearly not cleaned.
Our friends had stayed the previous week, and have told us since that the facilities blocks themselves (although very well appointed) had also not been regularly cleaned and were disturbingly unhygienic (they complained whilst they were there).
Given the site’s ownership and credentials, this is altogether not good, especially in current times! The cleaning regimes at the other 2 sites we stayed at during the week - and all the others we have visited during the last 4 months - had been upgraded during COVID.
Pinewoods needs to sort its act out quickly.

We have been to Pinewoods for a number of years but we were very disappointed this year, the site looked scruffy, cleaners were present in the toilets often but not actually cleaning, drains blocked twice during our stay, Hand wash in toilets empty for two days.
There were a few pitches with loads of people on them, one in particular with a caravan, awning, 2 VW campervans and 2 cars!
At over £50 per night you are just paying for the location now (which is good). Sorry but we won’t be returning.

Lovely clean caravan, excellent location.
Due to Covid 19, no facilities on the beach were open and no trampolines /boats at the site as there once was.
