What a find !!! We have just come back from a most enjoyable Easter break at this site. Situated next to the White Water Rafting Centre which you can access through the site.
Toilets and showers clean and warm, new block in the process of being built.
Friendly owners - what more can I say. Fully recommend to anyone. No Play Area for kids though, but there was a field they could run round in / play games. Dog walk on site. 4 miles from Bala (5 - 10 min drive).

Many thanks go to the owners of the Tyn Cornel Campsite for their kindness this weekend.
On Saturday 8pm we pitched up our tent ready for a weekend of Kayaking only to find that it leaked in the torrents of rain that we were experiencing. I was not expecting this as I had reproofed the tent only that week.
As the tent was intended to sleep myself, the wife, and our two 4 year olds, I was in BIG trouble. I decided that we better book a night in a b&b so I asked the owners if they had any numbers for local places. They said that they could do better than that and offered us a loan of their own tent.
They didn't charge us for the loan, and only asked that we provide a small deposit, that was returnable when we had finished with the tent.
With this kind of attitude, and the cleanest loos and showers I've seen in a long time, big hugs and high recomendations go to this site.

3 motorbikes with 2 tents that turned up unannounced on the recommendation of the guy in the garage at Bala. we were a little worried about the welcome we might get as "bikers". We felt at ease straight away and enjoyed the laid back attitude of it all.
They have ACRES of space. They are about 4 miles out from Bala which is great because they aren't crowded like the other facilities nearer the lake.
The facilities were great & the pitch was flat and soft. The refuse facilities were great as were the toilets and showers. I think that they were building a new shower block so more facilities on the way soon. We only stopped for one night so I couldn't say much more but my mate told me that they did have a little shop on site that sold veggie sausages so they can't be bad at all ;-)

Weekend of Oct 4th 2003
I found it odd that no-one had reviewed this campsite, especially with the amount of rafters who use it at weekends.
This Campsite has the cleanest toilets I have ever seen, the couple who own the site (and live in a Caravan which hosts as the reception) should be justly proud for their hard efforts. I never spoke to the gentleman but the lady was very welcoming and friendly and extremely helpful. The site has a nice walk to the white water rafting centre and is ideally placed for Bala town, although they also sell all the basics.
The only downside is that some of the rafters dont know when to close their mouths (some people do like to sleep at 4am) but this can happen anywhere. I dont know when I will next visit as I tend to go the 'Lakes', but I really hope these hard working people have a succesful tenure at this site - they deserve it...fantastic.
PS...Their dogs are beautiful too : - )
