Just back from a great weekend camping, with family and friends at Bank House Park. In all we had 9 units of tents / caravans / motor-homes. Kai and Andy (Park Managers) were extremely helpful dealing with my ever changing booking and they ensured we were all able to pitch together down by the river.
The new toilet and shower block was spotless over the busy weekend. The site is set in a beautiful location and a great pub (Manifold Inn) over the road.
Loads to do for the kids, with the lovely Wetton Mill, Thors Cave and Manifold Way all within easy reach.
We will be back again.

Please note, this site is not owned or run by the Manifold Inn Pub - it is independently owned. The pub no longer runs or owns any site.
This site - Bank House Park - is *opposite* the pub, on the river, please also don't confuse this site with the one *behind* the pub (Hulme End Campsite)

Must agree with the comments made here, this is a great site. A little basic but thats how I like it.
I phoned on Friday 2nd May to try and get in for the weekend and the owners said to head down and they would accomodate me even though my tent is largish.
On arrival we managed to get a lovely spot by the river which took in a nice view.
The ammenities are some of the cleanest I have seen, everytime I used them they had either just been cleaned or were in the process of being cleaned.
The Manifold pub across the way is a bit pricey but is conveniently situated for a nice night cap or 2.
Great for walks, managed to tire out the missus/kid and dog on the saturday.
I for one will be going back, infact I think I will go and book in now for the bank holiday at the end of May.

I arrived at this site having not booked, the managers were very accommodating although I was told I must book next time as they get really busy especially at weekends.
I can see how they would get busy.Toilets and showers are kept very clean and tidy, the views are amazing and the site is lovely.
The managers accommodated our dogs, even offered that we could let the dogs have a run about in the other field over the bridge that they keep just for dog walkers and picnics.
No electric hookups but hot showers are free, so is drinking water and they have good recycling facilities here too. Pot wash is a little basic, no laundry but this is a site for walkers and families who enjoy cycling and walking, not for entertaining the kids on site.
It was £12 for 2 adults and £3 for each dog.
All in all, enjoyed our stay. Very peaceful, have booked again for the summer holidays!

Bank House Park is opposite the Manifold Inn pub in Hulme End village, not to be confused with the other campsite that has no showers and no curfew that is behind the pub.
The young couple managing the site were so helpful, our tent had a broken pole and they helped us get it fixed with their toolkit.
The people next to us got their keys locked in their car and they even arranged for the local mechanic to come and help them out!
The site is basic, no electric hookups, but the views are stunning.
No formal pitches, you can go where you like but booking I am told is absolutley essential.
One downside, the campsite behind the pub made quite a lot of noise during the night but we couldn't really hear it from this site, we heard it whilst sitting outsite the pub having a drink. I definitely wouldn't stay at the Manifold campsite (Hulme End Campsite) I think the name was, but the one we stayed at on the river bank comes highly recommended by my family!
Great walks 200yards from the door and a few lovely pubs around too, try the Charles Cotton in Hartington or The George in Alstonefield for a good steak!

We stayed on this site for just one night during August Bank Holiday. It's a great little site for those wanting basic accommodation. It's only available to families and couples and was very peaceful, no noise after 10.30 p.M. My only (very small) gripe was the toilet/shower block is quite small (only 2 toilets and 2 showers) and had no electric point to plug in a hairdryer. The pub across the road gets very busy and had run out of food on Bank Holiday Sunday meaning the menu was cancelled and a BBQ set up instead. All in all, this a lovely area and a pleasant site.

Just spent a lovely weekend at Bank House, facilities immaculately clean, just not enough shower blocks (4 for the whole site). But no need to worry as this problem is being amended next year. Pub at entrance to camp site is expensive but they do offer a take out menu for £5, but if you are unlucky like we were and they are busy, this menu is unavailable. Would definitely go back to this site as the Managers (Kai & Andy) are very friendly and helpful, and ia a good location for the bike trails and walking.

Just stayed for a weekend break. Agree with the other reviews in that the toilets and showers are very clean and plenty of hot water (free). The young couple that run the site are helpful and pleasant and work hard to keep the site clean and tidy. The site is in a lovely setting next to the river.Flat pitches are on the lower levels but better views on the higher slope. Beware turning out of site as its a blind turn with cars travelling quite quickly over bridge. Over bridge there is an olde world type corner shop, stocking most basic essentials and further along the Manifold info centre. The pub is only 10 yards from the gate food looked good(did not eat there) also did take away service.Although seemed a bit pricey. £12 a night for two people in a tent was a bit on the high side for the facilities on offer compared to other sites in the area.

We've just had a lovely 2 nights here at this small and quiet site by the River Manifold.A Young couple are managing it. Toilet and shower facilities were clean. 2 showers in both gents and ladies.free hot water. Cost for 2 of us was £12 a night. Site alongside the river is very picturesque. We pitched near the river which was very calming with bubbling water.however the couple before us had said that with the rains the lower part of the site had got boggy near the river and a car had had to be towed out.
Pub across the road is busy and on Sunday night had Brass band practise which was a bit of a treat to listen to.local beers available here.
The site is very convenient for start of Manifold way which we cycled and not too far from starts of Tissinton and High Peak trails which we also biked.
Would definitely return here.

Bank house park is the new name for the campsite already known on UK campsite as the Manifold Inn Buxton Derbyshire . We came and stayed here as family groups celebrating a friends big birthday. There were 11 pitches and these included tents, a caravan, a motor home and a horse box. We were lucky and had brilliant weather. The owners were very accommodating The campsite is very picturesque with a small stream running down one side where the kids loved to play. We pitched up either side of the small track which runs through the campsite field. A small slope has to be negotiated to use the facilities. Toilet and shower facilities are new and kept very clean being mopped frequently. There are only two showers and two toilets in each of the male/female blocks. Two washing up sinks and one water pipe. The new owners are awaiting plans to extend the facilities. The cost was £16 for two adults two children tent and car. The turn into the campsite is very sharp beware. On Friday a two mile walk across fields took us to the beautiful village of Hartington where we sat outside the Charles Cotton inn eating door wedge sandwiches and drinking a glass or two. The landlord was most helpful with us being a big group. On Saturday we did a 5 mile circular route from Alstonefield taking us to Milldale along part of the Dovedale valley. We didn't stop at the George pub in Alstonefield to eat as the landlady was very off maybe because we were a large group so we got into our cars and went for lunch at the Charles Cotton where we were made to feel very welcome. Opposite the entrance to the campsite is the Manifold inn a very welcoming pub. The landlord even provided a television for the England football match on the Friday night .Serves reasonable homemade food. They even made a sticky toffee pudding for 32 of us when we finished the weekend of with Sunday lunch.
