The site is superbly located for access to many of the popular walks in this area, being in the Buxton / Leek / Ashbourne triangle. Set on the river bank, with tent pitches on the higher ground and another 'annexe' field across the road.
Just one warning - the valley side is quite steep and the facilities are all located half-way up - it's not a major issue, but less active people may find it a struggle.
Apart from that all is good, in particular the excellent staff and owner - all friendly and accommodating. Facilities are all kept clean and well maintained.
The reception / shop is surprisingly well-stocked for a small unit. On Saturday evening a wood-fired pizza van is on site, serving the very best 'mobile pizzas' we have had - top quality.
Also, directly opposite the site entrance is 'The Manifold' pub (less than 5-minute walk from the furthest pitches!) - excellent food, including breakfast from 08:00.
All together, this is a must visit site.

Great campsite, easy to find, clean and friendly staff!
Came with a tent! Pitch okay but near roadside so a bit of noise from the occasional vehicle but soon forgot about it!
Great location!
Great little pub five mins walk !
We will be back.

This site is brilliantly situated for walking or just enjoying the countryside and a pub.
The wardens were friendly and helpful.
The toilets and showers were warm, plentiful and clean - But they are at the top of the hill, accessed by a lot of steps. As is the shop, reception, pot washing and the chemical toilet disposal - which makes it a heavy track to sort your loo.
We were thankfully on a lovely pitch down by the river but the pitches on the other field had a very long walk to the up hill facilities
The pub across the road was very good

What a wonderful site. Next to the river Mr Bean's heaven (he's a dog).
Toilet block and showers are spotless.
Tip is that Elson point is up at toilet block. Suggest emptying before full it's a climb up steps.
Staff Trish were fab.
Great place for Manifold valley we walked to Thor's cave and climbed Ecton hill.
Only there 3 nights.

Excellent camp site with fantastic facilities and real friendly staff who were very helpful in helping us being first time campers.
Will definitely be going back in the future.
The manifold Valley walk to Thors cave was a lovely walk from the camp site, the bonus being the manifold inn opposite the camp site which does lovely bar meals and a cracking breakfast.
We had a great weekend.

A perfect location for walking, lots of footpaths directly from site with a variety of scenery along the way, and with numerous pubs within range for lunchtime refreshments.
Everything I could ask for at the campsite - level hardstanding pitch, plentiful hot water for showers and dishwashing, and a real ale pub across the road.
Well-maintained and spotlessly clean facilities. Cheerful & friendly staff who are ever-present but not overbearing.
Bus stop at the gate, with a frequent service.

This is a fantastic site to visit, waterside pitch was within 3 meter of the river.
We were made to feel most welcome, nothing was too much trouble for the site owners, dogs were very welcome with a marvellous dog exercise area.
Toilets and showers exceptionally clean with underfloor heating and a small shop selling essentials.
Pizza kitchen comes round on a Friday night, first class.
We will definitely be staying there again

We read the reviews so decided to pay the site a visit.
Phoned ahead and booked a pitch. Arrived at site and booking in was a breeze. Staff were very friendly and informative.
The reception was lovely and the toilet facilities spotless.
The manifold pub opposite looked nice too.
We didn’t need electric so we were in the meadow field. We paid £25 for my wife and I and our dog.
We were disappointed as it’s basically just a bumpy field with a river running around the perimeter. The toilet facilities were a good 5 mins walk away in a different field. Imagine needing the loo in the middle of the night.
Due to the distance from the facilities and seemingly lack of things to do we decided to pack up and leave.
A real shame as we like the Peak District.
