All in all a very good campsite.

Pros:

* Excellent Price for the area of £12 for a small tent, no hookups.

* Staff are friendly and very helpful.

* Onsite bar and restaurant. They do a good selection of single malt whiskeys and an excellent breakfast, if you can't be bothered to cook!

* Lovely country walks.

* It is a working farm so has all the charm.

Cons:

* You have to pay for the showers.

* Showers and toilet aren't that clean. They are by no means grotty but could do with being thoroughly cleaned more often.

* Although the M40 is not visible and it seems that you are in the middle of the country side, at night there is a bit of traffic noise from the M40.

* There is only one shower and two toilets, but although the campsite was fully booked, we never had to wait.

* It is a bit of a bugger to find!

However, don't let the Cons put you off because it is a charming campsite and I would highly recommend it if you are staying in the area.

What a very nice site. Perfectly level, enough hook ups and loads of space.

There are 2 toilets, one is a full wet room, with shower & sink.

The only gripe is that its £1 for 10 mins hot water, but the room is big enough to get a family in & get everyone done in one go.

Its a bit of a drive from anywhere, but that also means its quiet. Make sure you use their directions & you'll be fine. A few minutes drive gets you onto the Oxford ring road, or the M40.

There is a slight amount of motorway noise in the distance, but it is only slight.

The best parts are the extras you get.

Common Leys Farm runs a B&B as well. So you can book a nice full breakfast to set you up for the day. They also do lunches, afternoon teas & evening meals.

The owners run a nice house with a small bar with a cask ale on tap. They have a lovely lounge with a nice garden area full of comfy seats & tables.

This is 4* camping at the very least.

Their motto is 'arrive as a guest, leave a a friend. '. We only stayed one night, spent £32 on a pitch and 2 excellent breakfasts and felt very much at home & welcomed by everyone.

We will return, but stay a bit longer !

The site isn't the easiest to find, and the approaching roads get progressively poor, not a problem for cars but I had to be very careful on my motorbike, also the carpark bike is very heavily gravelled which is really hard for motorbikes to ride on and very easy to lose the front end on. You can park your bike on the grass next to your tent if you prefer but not always that safe if you have a large bike.

We were given a friendly welcome shown where the toilets where and left to pitch where ever we wanted. The field for tents is very flat. This is a basic site with two toilets and one shower (£1 for ten minutes), which could lead to ques at busier times than my stay. There's a drinking water tap but no washing up facilities. There's a washing machine but we didn't use during our 3 night stay.

There's an Asda about 10 to 15 minute drive away for all your needs and petrol. Electric hook up is available for tents but I didn't use it. £10 per night for two adults and one bike so is pretty good value.

This is a really nice site. Camping is only one small part of the Complex, that provides B&B, self catering,a bar and restaurant, farm and camp shop, and clay pigeon shooting, without being huge.( they also host wedding functions!) The rare breeds farm is also great for Children. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful.

The campsite is grassed, and is level,( no hard-standing),with hook-ups. You could camp where you liked. We had 5 other Royal wedding escapers on site! The site, I believe, takes ten tents /caravans. It was not cramped.

The facilities were OK,for the price £ 15 a night.(2 Adults,1 child and dog) The showers were £ 1 for 10 minutes and were hot. A small gripe was the lack of a mirror by the shaving point, and no cleaning materials and no bucket and mop to clean the shower floor before or after use. I only found out when leaving that there was a washing up area ? It wasn't obvious ?

This area of Oxfordshire is quite rural, but is near the M40 ( A distant roar!). You need to follow the owners clear directions, as Sat Navs can send you up a no through road !

Oxford is about 12 miles, Thame is 7 miles and has a good selection of shops + a good chippy. Thame also has a Waitrose and small Sainsburys.

To sum up, it is a good site, the owners are friendly, the facilities are good, but need a few adjustments as stated in the 'gripes' section above. The site provides a good base for exploring south Oxfordshire.
