Arrived and luckily, greeted by farmer working near the drive, who told us where to go. The grass on the sloping field was extremely high, in dire need of mowing as it was raining and therefore very wet and required us to put on walking boots to keep our feet dry. Only one other caravan on field, that honestly looks like it’s permanently there as the grass was a lot higher around it.
The toilet and shower are in a tin shed in bottom of the field and both need some TLC, no paper, soap or towels in toilet p, shower tray needs a really good clean and found water only hot later in the day.
Never saw owners again during the stay and on leaving at 11 am had to knock someone up to pay for the stay.
Very quiet and relaxing though but wouldn’t go again.

I almost don't want to write this review and share this site. What an incredible find.
Situated equally between Dalby Forest, Horcum's Hole and Pickering, with fantastic scenery of rolling moors, woodland, farm pastures and barns.
Incredibly helpful and friendly family who own Mount Pleasant which is a dairy farm with also chickens and horses. Simple but perfect shower and WC.
Only the sound of wind through the trees and the odd Moo.
Brilliant site for families, our children were able to visit the animals (the owners daughter kindly showed my children) and walk safely around the well-kept farm.
Situated in a large field, with stone wall, and trees, where we enjoyed playing Rounders and our dog was able to chase about. So many beautiful walks and lots of lovely unique shops near by in Pickering.
I can understand one might not be happy if they went here wanting to crawl the pubs or sit in a club house. But as a family who wear walking boots and enjoy 'switching off', this site is now a new favourite.
We can't wait to go back again.

Site is on a working farm. Very pleasant and helpful owners. Very reasonably priced. If you want all singing and dancing then this is not for you, but if you want a peaceful enjoyable break then this is right up your street. All the family have made our 13 year old daughter very welcome. We have been going a few weekends now over the past year and look forward to each visit. Shower and toilet block very basic but what do you expect for the price. Overall highly recommended

Have just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely little CL site and will definitely be returning again. It was our first experience of taking our caravan away and to be honest we couldn't have chosen a better site. Everyone was friendly and helpful, especially the caretaker who welcomed us and offered his help if we needed it. The site was in a lovely spot, the walkabout hens & geese added to the charm of the place. The facilities all thou basic were clean and tidy, electric hook up and the grass is cut regularly.
I would highly recommend this lovely little site and look forward to returning.

For a tenner a night with electric hook up, this site is spot on. Yes it is on a working farm like so many certificated locations, with all that entails, but it is a lovely spot with shelter all round and peace and quiet apart from the cows chuntering!
The toilet and shower are basic, as you'd expect, but clean - just don't forget your torch if you need to visit after dark as no lights.
The location is one of the main bonuses, great walks straight off the site but a short drive to pubs etc if that's your thing.
Also received a great welcome and the owner very helpful and friendly. Recommended.

After reading the review on this campsite we expected to find more or less what it said on the tin. Not so unfortunately.
We were booked in - told by the owners they luckily had a cancellation that weekend (Pickering War Weekend) so felt lucky to get somewhere finally. All seemed fine.
Arrived at 6.45 p Friday night - as arranged. The farmhouse was in complete darkness. We decided to follow the camping club signs and get settled in and come back and see the owners.
We turned into a very sloping field with very long grass - straight to the top and back down again. Realised the EHU were there so we were in the right place but couldn't in our lives figure out how a camper van was supposed to even up wheels on that slope.
Clearly from the tyre marks left by us we were the only people who have been there in weeks. Surely wasn't fully booked with a cancellation.
Couldn't see any sign of a toilet and shower (it was dark by now anyway) Went away - had a much needed drink and went back an hour later and tried again. Lights all on this time but still no response. Decided to call it a day and left.
We were by this time very stressed, tired and confused. Made a very bad start to what ended up a very good weekend when we finally found a place to park up even though we had no facilities and no EHU.

The site is a Camping and Caravanning Club certified site on a rural working farm. Stayed for one night, had a fantastic time and the dog loved it!
The site has one toilet and one shower but this wasn't a problem as there are only 5 pitches on the site. The toilet and shower were cleaned regularly. Electric hook up is available if needed. The site is sheltered by trees which is a bonus. It does slope in certain places but this doesn't really affect the pitches. Great location costing only £7 per pitch without EHU or £10 with EHU.
The nearest large shops / chippy / cafes are at Thornton le Dale or there is a small but well stocked shop at Lockton. The Fox and Rabbit pub is about a mile away which serves meals (very large portions) at reasonable prices.
The site is very close to Dalby Forest which is within easy walking distance. If mountain biking is your thing, this area is ideal. Yorkshire coast and North Yorks steam railway are also nearby which make great days out.
Will definitely return soon.
