Definitively our type of campsite, managed with both the knowledge of what today's tent-campers expect - electricity, wi-fi, water faucets etc. - and with a welcoming and caring attitude typical of a more homely setting, giving it personal appeal.
The grounds are very well kept and surrounded by trees. The facilities are simple yet efficient and that makes them worthy to us. Our GPS was indeed confused by the newly constructed main road that now leads there (which was not yet on the map at the time) but still got us there without a problem.
The wi-fi signal did not yet reach all corners of the site but we were able to use it closer to the house. We only spent a day, en-route between
Dover and Holyhead, but we will definitively go back as a stay. We camped with our 14 yr old daughter and our 6 months old baby. The owners were impeccable.

Quiet site at the moment but bypass being built in close proximity. Owners extremely helpful and friendly. Showers very hot, old but very clean, I understand these facilities will be upgraded in the near future.
Short walk into village where shops and pub offering Chinese food to eat in or take away can be found. Grass pitches on slightly uneven ground may be a drainage problem in wet weather.
Freeview reception good

Nice site. Facilities are clean, sound, but basic(no shower curtains, no shelf or hooks in the cubicles). At the moment looks a bit like a travellers camp with many vans surrounded by large gas bottles--these seem to belong to workers building the new bi-pass. They live there in the week, but are gone at the weekends. When we stayed, it was quiet and peaceful. Pub down the road just changed hands, and the food is excellent!

My husband was working locally so we decided to give our new tourer a quick trial. There was room to park our car out of the way so he didn't disturb anyone when leaving at 7 in the morning. Only planned to stay 2 nights but had such a great time we ended up staying 4!
You can hire a great BBQ from the owners who supply wood to cook over, creates a lovely taste far better than coals.
The facilities were limited, yes the ladies only had only 1 shower and loo but we never had to wait, the water was piping hot and they were always clean; indicative of the size of the site really. This is a small tranquil site with wonderful owners who make you feel most welcome.
The site is obviously being improved and the owners take this very seriously. They have tried to level some of the pitches and have reseeded these areas. They asked us what else they could do to improve the site, they genuinely wanted our feedback as they clearly care about what they are providing. Our advice was to stay as they are, a clean and tidy site with perfectly adequate facilities.
Those who wish to be on a loud crowded site with bars and everything to entertain you should stay away from this site. Those, like us, who want to go somewhere that is good value, the children can have good honest fun and play with respect for others but without feeling as though they are wrong for enjoying themselves while parents supervise (and often join in) and relax then you shouldn't miss the opportunity to visit Lodge Farm.
Oh, one last note. If you or your children are scared of dogs you should go here. The owners dog is just like them, he is so friendly and will win over your hearts by coming to play with you. Just watch your food, he'll steal anything!

We just stayed one night after visiting Stratford and Warwick. Very nice owners. Quiet site but they don't really open until Easter. Toilets were clean and had very warm showers. A good price. We made a short walk away to the local pub with good food. Grass was short and they were making the pitches flatter. We will visit Lodge Farm and Warwickshire again.

It was absolutely throwing it down with rain when we arrived at Lodge Farm campsite which was conveniently located for Rugby. This immediately made us realise how very uneven the ground was as our living space groundsheet quickly developed some rather large puddles in the dips. The field had very long grass which took several days to dry and was quite muddy. Facilities were very simple but adequate although the shower could have done with a curtain between the shower and your clothes to stop them and the floor getting so wet. Only 1 loo and 1 shower each. Very cheap though so can't complain too much and the welcome was a friendly one. The nearby road was a bit noisy.

Stayed here for 2 nights when visiting Cadburyland and Warwick Castle with our 3 children.
Owner was very friendly as were other campers on site. There were a couple who pitched their vans there all year round and came back at weekends so can't be bad. Other than them it was very quiet at that time of year.
Facilities were very good and clean with plenty of hot water and reasonably priced.
No playground but we weren't looking for that as just using it as a base and I think it was ideally suited for that.

Site has lots of potential but is under utilised. Pitches are fairly uneven and although facilities were clean, only one toilet and shower for the ladies. Very quiet at the moment mainly due to closure of road to make way for Rugby relief road which will pass nearby when completed. Several of the tents and caravans appeared to be being used by workmen. After our initial concerns the site seemed OK

A great site, friendly owner, decent pub just a short walk away, with good food and a good selection of real ales. Facilities basic but good, clean toilets and showers. Great value, will be going back again!

Friendly quiet owner. Stayed in second field, sloping and bumpy. 6 amp elec hook up. Hard to manouver large caravans in the courtyard ( if using second field ). Friendly nearby local pub, serves good food. Local to Rugby town centre.
