We visited this campsite for the first time over the Bank Holiday weekend and were very impressed.

We had two large pitches and they were huge - plenty of room for our two tents and cars. The terracing also adds to a feeling of space, whilst the trees still give the site a cosy feel.

Although busy, the campsite was pretty quiet, we were only disturbed on a couple of nights by another group who seemed to want everyone to know they were there! But you get people like that everywhere.

There are only three showers each for men and women which do fill up at busy times, but generally you don't have to wait for too long and once you get in, they're good. Nice pressure and free!

The washing room is well equiped with washing machines etc, but don't forget your 20p for hot water for the dishes.

There is a little shop on site selling all the essentials.

All in all this is a lovely little site and one we will use again if in Lands End.

Best site we have ever found. All you will need for a wonderful relaxed visit to Penzance. Owners are very helpful and responsive.

Site is spotless and well maintained, the views across the fields are magnificent. Touring pitches are the largest I have known.

Safe for the kids to play around the three levels of the camp site, although no actual play ground.

Not only would I recommend it to people (like us) who want a nice simple holiday (no club house etc), we have already booked to return for the August Bank holiday weekend.

Sennen Cove is a must do. Lovely beach, great waves and visit the local pub (The Old Success Inn) for good food and entertainment.

Any negatives? Bins get overfull by the end of the week, needs to increase numbers/ capacities.

We booked five nights at this campsite at end of July with our two boys aged 5 and 8 and could easily have stayed longer. The site has excellent facilities, showers were hot every time although the pressure could be a little low if very busy. But they're free so quite happy! Only had to queue once and soon got my shower. Facilities always clean. Good washing up facilities but there is a 20p charge although this gave plenty of hot water. Site itself is well kept and very friendly owners. We didn't need to use the shop but made use of the freezers for coolblocks, they also have fridges free to use. One of the best things abouat this site is the size of the pitches. We have a 3 pod famiily tent and had plenty of room either side for car & trailer. Area is ideal for touring the whole of the south of Cornwall. Only problem for us was the fog which came in a few evenings, but it never spoilt the holiday. Would highly recommend.

Driving towards Penzance, we saw Lower Treave, drove in 'on spec' and found we could have a pitch.

We were delighted with what we were given. We actually own two touring caravans and on this trip were using the little one. Our other much longer Compass would have fitted pitch 17 where we stayed. In fact, there was so much pitch width, I could have easily sited THREE of our Compass nose to tail and still had room for games. In all my years of caravanning, I've never had a wider pitch!

Owners very friendly and anxious to please but the toilet block (Gents is all I saw) needs an internal refit as it's getting a bit dowdy, even though its spotlessly clean. Liked the laundry, computer room useful for email and the shop was handy. May well go again as we're planning another trip to the Minack Theatre in September.

Great campsite, warm and friendly service and nice just to enjoy the surroundings and chill out, and owners were happy to help with supplies and opening of the shop, even after sign (opening and closing times) indicated closed.

The campsite offers Ideal location for seeing Cornwall with easy access to Lands End and surroundings. Everyone on the site seems to be happy to wonder about and communicate in a relaxed friendly way.

More then happy to book again in the future and will stay again when visiting Cornwall

I make no apologies for stating my opinions of this site, yes it is very nicely terraced which makes it attractive. We asked for a hardstanding pitch for our motor home, which when we got there found they do not have and had to share with what appeared to be a seasonal pitch, the person on it was obviously none to happy as he did not speak to us for the 4 days we were there.

Beware of the wifi, we logged in to it but could not sort out how to use it and someone put a key logger program on my lap top whilst there.

I never got any hot water to wash my hands after using the toilet, a basic hygiene requirement, and when the showers were being used the floor outside of the cubicles was wet through. When the urinals are used they run into an open top grid which smells and I never saw them flush down!

My opinion is the owner is too fond of being 'Green' and does not see it all through the eye of their visitors. A useful bus service stops by request at the gate which is very useful. We paid £14.50 per night which is not expensive, but the whole experience could be so much better.

Sorry Norman & Linda but out of 5 sites we stayed on for this trip this is the one we would not go back too, it could be so much better, and please if you accept hard standing bookings again put some proper full size hardstanding pitches down, motor homes are so much more difficult to level up on uneven ground which was why we would not go onto a grass pitch as offered.

I loved this site. It was fairly small compared to some, but it was immaculate. The owners were really friendly and offered help and advice whenever we needed it. The showers were excellent. There was only three but they were always clean and we never had to queue. The pitches were large and there was plenty of room between other campers.

The fridges on site, which were free to use, were very useful as we had no electric hook up although there was some available. The setting was lovely with a farm close by and fields behind. About five minutes drive to the beautiful beach at Sennen, which the kids loved!

And close to Lands End for when the weather isn't quite so great. We didn't eat out much but had a breakfast at a lovely cafe up towards the harbour end of Sennen. There were some tables outside, by the sea, and it was reasonably priced. No where near as pricey as the Beach cafe right up the other end.

Will definitely be going back to this campsite at some point soon! There was so much we didn't have time to see, Porthcurno, Marazion amongst them.

Lower Treave must be the best site in Cornwall. Good clean showers and Toilets, Hair dryers availabe at 20p a go (my wife tells me there was a vase of flowers in ladies). Very friendly owners full of info. There is a Laundry with dryers, a good wash up section (20p for a sink of hot water). A shop selling the basics, the owners will charge your phone, camera ect for 50p.The site is beautiful, it's teraced on 4 levels, some pitches have good views over the surounding countryside. The site is aprox 2 miles from Sennen and 4 from Lands End. There is a new Costcutter Supermarket in Sennen village which is very good and a small supermarket in St Buryan which is a couple of miles away.

Nice quiet site - spectacular views when it's not misty - unfortunately this area is known as 'the fog factory' but I'm sure I was just unlucky.

At first sight the showers looked inadequate but I never saw anyone queuing so I obviously thought wrong, although it is quite a hike to the toilet block if you are at the other end of the site. They are however spotlessly clean.

It is well worth driving to Penzance & parking on the harbour for the day (£5) & catching a bus, there is a good one which will take you all round the coast of West Penwith - just over 3 hours journey - on an open top double decker.

We camped at Lower Treave for two weeks from late July until early August.

The site is ideally located, just a couple of miles from the superb beach at Sennen Cove, and only seven miles from Penzance. It is a very quiet site, most suited to families with younger children.

The pitches are on three levels, and all appeared flat, with electric hook up points close by on serviced pitches.

The site offers free Wi-Fi, which is a bonus, although like the rest of the UK bandwidth is not great. Nevertheless it is more than adequate for general surfing and email purposes, although it did drop off a few times whilst we were there.

It has to be said that Lower Treave's facilities are immaculate. The showers are always clean, and the water is always hot. However, they do charge 20p for washing up.

There are large washers and driers, which are very useful, and you can even help yourself to filter coffee in exchange for a small charity donation.

The owners take what they do very seriously, and it shows. But like most sites the price is creeping upwards, and Lower Treave's prices are as high as they come for camping. My worry is that campsites like this will eventually price themselves out of the market.
