Have just stayed here for three nights after reading reviews from last year. A very warm welcome and a beautiful spot, BUT what has gone wrong. Three permanent (?) workers caravans on site. Bits of bricks and logs on the camping field. Projects started and left, ie new fence between camping field and road. Toilet/shower room was not cleaned all the time we were there. No toilet paper, soap or towel/hand dryer. Pub very friendly and huge portions. Bus stop outside but only two buses a day into Newbury. 12. 40 and 15. 40. Chicken and ducks on site are wonderful.

Friendly. Yes! traditional. Yes! could be anywhere in the heart of the prettiest British countryside. The food is fantastic, by far the best steak I have eaten in years! The owner is very friendly and would fall over to accommodate any of your needs!
Lovely secure area for our little one to run about, ducks and chickens adding to the country feel. This is one of the prettiest camp sites we as a family of 5 age from 2 to 75 have ever enjoyed! electric, peaceful, spacious level pitches. Loved every minute.
Ideal for London, Southampton, the Thames etc. Would highly recommend and will be back very soon! Would be ideal in the winter with a roaring log fire or perfect for a chilled summer evening with a beautiful garden area. Great lager, lager, beer and spirits offers and frequent quizzes etc. Loved it!

We stayed at this small site for three nights. got a warm welcome when we arrived. We also tried the food in the hotel it was super, the portions were more than ample for the biggest appetite, the fish and chips were extra large and were top quality
would recommend this site to anyone for a short stay to visit newbury or the surrounding areas, there is plenty to do.

Loved this place - nice small site - very friendly landlord and very lively gorgeous pub dog called Langley -
Very dog friendly place (handy if you take your own) -
Nice seating area outside back of pub, sit back and watch the ducks
Food has good reputation but we didn't try it this time, cant wait to go back.
Yes, you can hear the road at night but it doesn't detract, and the facilities are basic, but more than adequate for a few nights stay -
Access to gorgeous walks just over the road - what's not to like??

Just spent spent the weekend at this site with some friends.
On arrival proprietor gave us the warmest of welcomes and made sure that we had everything we needed, nothing seemed to be too much trouble and we all felt that the staff in the bar was a credit to him as again nothing seemed too much trouble.
Although we did not eat in the pub I only heard good things from fellow campers. The locals in the pub were again very friendly and chatty and you never felt like an outsider.
If you are looking for a small but very friendly campsite with a pub look no further this is the place.

We really enjoyed our stay at Langley Hall Inn campsite. Having travelled up from Plymouth on Thursday afternoon, we got a warm welcome from Mark and Lorraine the landlord and landlady. Mark organised an extension cable for our hook-up and we were soon set up. The shower room is almost complete and perfectly usable - nice hot shower and the room is heated. Water point is nearby and there is an area for chemical toilet disposal.
The pub is lovely with an open fire, and although we didn't eat there we had lots of positive feedback from other diners. The beer garden to the rear is well kept and the chickens and ducks give it a nice country pub feel. Dogs are welcome in the pub and Langley the pub dog has a warm welcome for you as well! We are looking forward to our next visit which will include a meal!

Having read the other reviews we don't think this 'site' has implemented its hoped for improvements yet.
There is still no fence between the small camping area and the road so its really a no no for those with children or pets, there seems to be part of a fence but it obviously got blown down some time ago and is still on the ground.
There is a bank of electric points in the corner by the pub wall - which means you have to be right next to the pub even with a very long hook up cable.
Water access is rather interesting for motorhomes - there isn't any - though the owner did offer to phone the motorhome dealership half a mile away to ask if we could fill up there.
The pub looked nice, but I'm afraid that, for us at least, they really do need to implement their planned improvements before we are prepared to pay £15 per night.

The description of this site is spot on. We knew in advance that it was 'a work in progress' so we were not disappointed that the facilities were not completed.
However we can confirm that it has great potential. The loo/shower room will be great. It was quite refreshing that the description was honest and accurate.
We stayed for 2 nights while visiting relatives in nearby Newbury.
Our hosts were welcoming and the pub is charming with great food.
It's very convenient for the M4 and the shop in the nearby village is handy.
We got the impression that the owners were determined to make this a very good little site. You get exactly what it says on the tin!

We booked this for one night on our way from Bath to Paddock Wood. The owner made us very welcome and showed us where to park. There is a small field adjacent to the pub, quite level and next to the Car Park. No facilities yet, but Mark has plans for EHU and a Toilet/shower block. We were welcome to use the Pub facilities.
Friendly Bar with good selection of Real Ales and a nice looking menu with local produce used where possible. Wood burning stove should be cosy in Winter.
We had the Full English for breakfast which set us well on our way.
There is a lovely wooded walk nearby and two Garden Centres about a mile away.
We will definitely visit again when every thing is up and running

We stayed for 2 nights whilst attending Highclere Horse Trials. The campsite is a small field situated next to the pub car park with easy access to M4 (only 2 mins away)
We were the first to arrive at this new site and the welcome couldn't have been warmer. The facilities were basic but if they carry out the re-development to the same standards as the Pub then it'll be just super.
Just a little note to those with children, when we visited the site was not fenced off so I did have to keep a close eye on my small children, that said there was a trampoline in the pub garden that we were very welcome to use.
Unfortunately we didn't eat in the pub as we had our own facilities, but it smelt great and we were very jealous!
Please remember that the site had literally just opened when we stayed and my ratings are based on when we actually stayed before any of the development work had been carried out.
