Fantastic campsite, next to the lovely Langley Hall Inn pub.
We stayed on the first weekend the campsite was open to visitors. The pub has recently been taken over, and the new landlord and lady have been busy renovating and doing the place up. The pub itself had only re-opened in July (2011).
At present there are no dedicated facilities at the campsite, a fact which we were openly informed of when we phoned to book. However, the landlord is planning to convert the garage in to a toilet and shower block. Campers are welcome to use the pub toilets, but these are closed over-night. The pub and camp site are next to a road, but it is not busy.
The camp site itself is a smallish field right next to the pub, which was perfect for us. There were five other sets of people there at the same time as us and we were nicely spaced out. It is a small and friendly camp site. The chickens we were camped next to were also very friendly! Luckily there was no cockerel, so we weren't woken up early in the morning!
We ate in the pub, which served good food and beer (and excellent desserts!). The renovations on the pub have been very successful and it is a great place to spend an evening. The landlord and lady are especially friendly and welcoming.
The camp site may not be ideal for longer stays until the new facilities have been completed, but we thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay.
