 My husband, myself and pet dog have just returned from a 9 night stay here. The surrounding area and actual location of the site were perfect ! Exactly what we wanted. Countryside, minimal passing traffic, easy access to routes for days out, shopping etc.
However, the downsides were very overflowing dustbins and recycling bins, 4 or 5 of the site owners' dogs roaming free and 'surrounding' our dog on a few occasions,
1 single toilet and one shower, and always 6 or 7 units on the site ! (It was a Caravan Club CL so 5 should be max, plus one caravan pitched also had a 4 man tent pitched with it(and 3 cars)! The occupancy for this unit alone was 10 people (including children).
My husband and I ended up having to shower mid afternoons to avoid the queues. Both of these facilities were located right next to the drinking water tap, which was always very muddy to walk in and out of to shower etc, and was over run with wild flowers across the muddy entrance.
The charge was £15 per night, including electricity and porch awning, which in our mind was over priced due to the toilet and showers only being visibly mopped once during our whole stay.
The owners were friendly enough, and recommended places to eat and visit, although they were not around particularly much, unlike other CLs and places we have been to.
There was a very relaxed atmosphere in terms of no rules regarding playing of ball games, BBQs etc.
If you are looking for a peaceful one or two night stop over/ stay, then this is the place for you, but for one of our longer holidays it was a little disappointing.
