Shared the field with no-one but the three sheep. Nice to see dressage practice beyond the next field, and the owner's son's birds of prey in the pretty garden.
Found a lovely circular walk on lanes through Sellack, and cycled to Ross-on-Wye.
Excellent food and hospitality at the Lough Pool Inn nearby.
Shower and toilet functional.
Hope to visit again.

Myself, my hubby and our dog have just returned from a weekend at Oakleigh Campsite. I just felt I had to write a review as we have truly found a little gem in the middle of some amazing countryside and surrounded by the most amazing wildlife and birds that I have seen for a long time. With it being May day bank holiday weekend, I thought it would have been busy but to have Friday night and the campsite to ourselves was amazing. The owners are lovely and so friendly, the campsite is clean and in a fantastic location with lovely walks from the site down to the river Wye. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We have just returned from a two night early week stay and only wish it could have been longer. It is as described only better! Our two small children had a lovely time playing in safety and meeting all the animals, feeding the friendly sheep was memorable. We thoroughly recommend if you are looking for rural peace with excellent facilities and helpful owners. We will definitely be returning.

My husband and I and our labrador William had a lovely stay at Oakleigh Campsite.
It is a calm and peaceful site, the perfect place to relax and an ideal base from which explore the numerous attractions of the stunning Wye Valley and Forest Of Dean. There are some lovely walks by the water meadows and the river directly from the site.
Morrisons Supermarket and Aldi is a ten minute drive, there is also a nice public swimming pool with a sauna in Ross-On-Wye.
Thank you to the site owners who welcomed us warmly and were very helpful during our stay recommending local walks, places of interest, pubs and restaurants.
The toilet and shower facilities have recently been refurbished and we could not fault their cleanliness.
The site is quiet, very natural and peaceful and we particularly enjoyed feeling close to nature, watching the sheep and owners horses grazing in the fields nearby. Seeing the raptors close up was amazing, quite a bonus!
William had a fab time, he loved meeting and playing with the resident pooches.
This site is ideal for nature lovers and those who want to be in a delightful, peaceful setting in the countryside.
A lovely and relaxing time was had by all three of us! We will be back!

Please note, this year the site owners have had a complete overhaul of the site and are starting afresh as they are no longer with the Caravan Club as they were previously.
The shower and toilet facility had been completely refurbished in May 2016, along with the waste area.
New signs have been printed to maintain the site in an orderly fashion and provide care and consideration to visitors.
They are continuing to look for ways to improve or add to our facilities so would welcome your suggestions. They are looking forward to welcoming new visitors this season, and are sure you won't be disappointed.

We enjoyed our 4 nights here but agree with previous reviewers that £15. 00 per night is too much. The area is very beautiful certainly although views from the CL itself are nothing to write home about, but a little exploration certainly pays off. We visited the Forest of Dean, Symonds Yat and the Malvern Hills which are all stunning. It's good to have 16-amp electricity so as not to be switching stuff on and off all the time for fear of tripping out the supply. The toilet and shower (just the one of each) are situated in a sort of lean-to on the side of the owner's house and are a bit crumbly and decrepit although reasonably clean. The bins are quite unpleasant though, they are behind a sort of barn-cum-horsebox canopy and placed on top of some rickety rotting pallets and you think that you're going to fall off or your foot is going to go through the wood. Not entirely sure we would use this CL again although we would visit the area again.

Reasonably level location overlooking fields and a paddock.
Not easy to get water for a MH, very long hose required. Toilet block leaves a great deal to be desired, not at all clean and to charge 50p for a trickle of water out of the shower is appalling, especially when they charge £15 a night. (Have heard since it has gone up to £20. 00) So check if you still fancy going.
Rubbish bins are perched on some old pallets which makes them somewhat wobbly as you try to reach them.
Owners dogs seem to be allowed to roam free and to deposit wherever they like and they did, even worse it was ignored by the owners.
We shall not return even for the lovely pub just down the hill.

A lovely situation, roomy field, only two caravans on the site including us. The owners dogs are friendly enough but do seem to be allowed to run freely across the site, which can be a problem if you have a dog.
There is effectively only cold water to the washbasin, as there is large label on the hot water geyser instructing you to turn it off after use. As it takes some time to heat up it is impractical to stand waiting for hot water! Shower is a bit basic, curtain too short and therefore the floor outside the shower is awash. Also it costs 50p via honesty box. We felt quite insulted when paying we were asked 'if we owed anything for the shower?' We didn't as we looked at it and decided to use our own.
I was then pursued across the field back to our Caravan by Mr Webb to be told our cheque for the deposit had not arrived so we owed another £15.
On checking with our bank on return the cheque had been cashed and the owner, when e mailed and informed if the fact, got back to me and assured me it was an 'oversight' and they would send a cheque to reimburse us. Overall impressed with the area but less so with this CL, would look for another site.
