This is a lovely cl and very easy to find, it is quite flat and grass is well maintained and large spaces, it is near a road but its not to noisy.
The owner chris was friendly and gave us a key to the gate and then left us to it.
We walked down to hickling wharf and had a pot of tea in the tea room which was lovely and you can walk beside the canal if you want it took us about 20 mins but we don't walk very fast.
Melton mowbray is a lovely litte place with all the shops you could need and a weatherspoons over the road from a carpark.
Would we use this site again yes we would and hope to go back soon

Stayed here for two gloriously peaceful nights. Lovely owners Chris and Jan who were so kind. Nothing too much trouble.
Adults only. Short walk to tea room by the canal which was a joy. A pub nearby but didn’t manage to get to it. Grass and hard standing with water and EHU. Lovely florist opposite and a tea shop due to open shortly with amazing chocolates!
No showers but one clean toilet. Chemical emptying and drive over drain for motorhomes. This is a truly lovely peaceful CL.
We will be back. Thank you Chris.

We stayed here for one night as we had swapped our motorhome for a different one and wanted to test everything whilst being near to the dealer we bought from.
Warm welcome form Chris and helpful advice, The site is adjacent to a country road but we were not disturbed by traffic at all. Easy access to major roads into Leicester and Nottingham.
Note this site does not have a shower, there is a toilet and wash basin only. The site is gated and each pitch has a key for the gate.
One of the nearby pubs has shut but in the opposite direction, a 10 minute walk, in Hickling, is the Plough Inn, we were made very welcome and chose ribs from the menu, they came with chunky slaw, great chips and battered onion rings, absolutely delicious and a generous helping. Great choice of beers and drinks, there is a pizza menu and they do takeaway pizzas, recommend this pub.
There seem to be lots of lovely walks nearby and there is also a tearoom in Hickling. Opposite the pub is Hickling Basin which is part of the Grantham Canal, very pretty with resident ducks and swans

Best CL site we've ever visited, can't wait to go back, fixing the dates to re-book. Beautifully clean and maintained, completely flat, totally secure and facilities ideally suit us for a nice quiet break away from work.
Chris, the owner, met us on arrival, was regularly seen around meeting others and was very friendly and helpful.
Ideal location with local pubs and tea rooms which we sampled.
So pleased! See you again very soon.

This is our fourth time here and is one of our favourites. Beautifully kept with lovely short grass and large flat pitches. Electric included.
The on site farm shop was closed this time.
It has a toilet and shower, although we have not used these.
The owner Chris is friendly and helpful.
Best of all are the well maintained grass paths around and across the level fields on this working farm. The dogs love it.

Firstly the site is flat, entrance good, not what l call sheltered but fine, We checked in on Friday at 1pm at the shop and were given the key to the gate, there was no one else on the site, but the grass had not been cut, Monday morning when the vans were all on site the Mower Man turns up at 8. 30am and tries to mow right up against the awnings, ! The site is great for dog walking with plenty of lovely fields
The down side is, although we were told there was WFI on the site with the vans. We could not get it, they state in there write up that at there sister shop at Easton, Caravan Club Members get free hot drink if purchasing food, we told the girl were we were staying but still had to pay for our drinks, after a very expensive Pork Pie ploughmans, which included bread but when brought to the table we were offered the bread as an extra, our fault we had not read the menu properly so it was only after we realized we had paid nearly £6. 00 for a pork pie 2 lettuce leaves and cpl of slices of tomato and cucumber with a few grapes and a spoonful of pickle. Toilet basic, but clean, quite away to walk if needed.
Its not a quiet road the tractor boys are racing up and down all day, and we were unfortunate to be there the weekend of Muck spreading so the smell was awful
So not the site we thought it was going to, needless to say we wont be returning
One good thing was the Plough Inn brilliant food very well priced,

This was my first venture into the world of camping with a van and I don't think I could have picked a better site. If this is an indication of the quality of cl's, then I am sure that I am going to really enjoy myself for years to come. I can't really comment on the surroundings, other than the actual site itself, as the weather was vile -as forecasted! Which is why I ended up being the only occupant, but the purpose of my one night stay was to familiarise myself with the van, and this was certainly achieved and I had the luxury of doing it without spectators. Sorry all you wonderfully seasoned campers/people watchers, but one got through the net :-)
The site does not have any facilities, but does boast an extremely organised and very clean neatly arranged chemical disposal and bin area. There is also plenty of space for the five pitches, you certainly would not feel crammed in. The site is lined with young trees and I imagine that as they mature, you will feel more secluded, as it is at the moment you are a little exposed to the elements.
The shop is wonderful, I was really disappointed that I had brought most of my provisions with me. One of the reviews said that it was expensive, personally I thought for the quality and variety of the produce, it was not overpriced. I bought some bread, Brie & eggs and all were excellent. The gentleman that I spoke to on the phone and the site, and the young girl in the shop were all very pleasant. I asked what time I should leave in the morning and the answer was that as no one was expected it didn't matter - I thought that was extremely civilised and I will certainly visit again and recommend to others.

We stopped at this lovely site for 5 nights the site was peaceful and the owners were very nice and chatty. The farm shop has got some nice things in it and fresh baked bread and Sunday papers were very nice to have. There is lots of dog walking places around and a big field at the site to use, all at no extra charge ie dogs go free, not like a lot of sites. Well done owners. We were there visiting family so will use this site again.

Really enjoyed staying here, the facilities are basic (no toilets/ showers/ EHU) but the site is really clean, grass kept short and the chemical disposal spotless.
There is a farm shop very close to the site (about 20 meters!) which has great fruit and veg, and some meat for breakfasts / BBQ's.
The site is a short walk from Hickling (canal walks and pub) and Kinoulton (great restaurant (Neville Arms). Although you will need to book in advance for Fri / Sat nights).
Camp site owner was very helpful, site was very quiet when we stayed.
